Q1: D yu like music? What are the ways fr peple t experience music?
Q2: When we are apart, can we still experience chir?
Justificatins: lead in the tpic and familiarize Ss with the new wrd “chir”
Ⅱ. While-reading
Activity 1 Explain scanning
Justificatins: By cmparing the reading skill f scanning t pearl diving and listing fur steps t scan, Ss can easily understand and master the skill, thus better prepared fr the next reading task.
Activity 2 Scan Para. 1 t define the wrd “virtual”
Justificatins: It’s a relatively easy scanning exercise. By applying the fur steps t scan and identify the pearl t be fund in this case, which is “virtual”, Ss can quickly find in its surrundings that “nline” and “nt the Internet” are similar t “virtual” in meaning and thus understand the meaning f the title, namely “the chir nline”.
Activity 3 Scan Para. 1 again t knw mre abut the virtual chir
Ss will scan Para. 1 again t find ut the answers t the fllwing questins and therefre have a full understanding f the virtual chir.
Q1. What is the virtual chir in nature (本质上)? (the pear: item names)
Q2. Wh can jin a virtual chir? And Where can we jin it? (the pear: wrds indicating peple and place)
Q3. Hw t frm a virtual chir? (the pear: verbs)

Justificatins: during this activity, Ss will again practice their scanning and als master anther reading skill, making a timeline, which will help them srt ut a series f events in a time rder.

Read Para. 2 and Para. 3 carefully t think abut the fllwing questins.

Q2, Q3 and the latter part f Q5 lead Ss t appreciate the rhetrical devices emplyed in this passage, namely qutatin, transitinal sentence, figures. Q6 is an pen questin which prvkes critical thinking. Hpefully, Ss will learn t analyze any success frm bth subjective and bjective aspects.
