      教学重点:
      equip students with the essential knwledge abut virtual chirs;
      summarize the key factrs that have prpelled the emergence and success f virtual chirs.
      教学难点:
      students may lack relevant skills in analyzing and summarizing.
      教学过程
      Step 1 Lead in (8 mins)
      Activity 1:
      The teacher presents pictures f a reality chir and a virtual chir respectively t intrduce the
      tpic: the virtual chir.
      Activity 2:
      Students are asked t raise questins abut the virtual chir.
      Q: What d yu want t knw abut the virtual chir?
      Here are pssible questins:
      Wh can jin it?
      Where can peple watch it?
      Hw can peple make it?
      Why d peple jin it?
      [Teaching intent: Students are suppsed t understand the cncept f virtual chir, predict the text by asking questins and learn the wrds “virtual” and “chir”.]
      Step 2 Reading (25 mins)
      Activity 1:
      Students are asked t read the whle paragraph and answer the questins they raised. The teacher als help students t cnclude the rle f the first paragraph as an intrductin.
      Activity 2:
      1. The teacher asks students t draw a timeline f the creatr Eric Whitacre.
      2. Students are asked t think deeply f the fllwing questin:
      What led t the creatin f the virtual chir?
      Activity 3:
      The teacher asks students t think abut the questin: Des the writer like the virtual chir? Hw d yu knw it?
      [Teaching intent: Students are suppsed t find answers by scanning the text, find cntributrs by synthesizing and analyzing the text. They are als guided t find pinin adjectives t reflect peple’s attitude.]
      Step 3 Thinking and Sharing (6mins)
      The teacher presents a vide and asks students t think abut the fllwing questin and share their ideas with each ther:

      Step 4 Summary (6mins)
      The teacher walks the students thrugh the structure and cntent f the text by rganizing the infrmatin int a min-map.
