教学内容
教学重点：
找出并理解阅读文本中介绍汉字发展的两条主要线索(time and event);
掌握涉及的阅读技巧，表达方式，语法知识。
引导学生理解汉字是如何连接过去和现在的，探索汉字与中华文明传承的关系；
教学难点：
1.引导学生通过观察语言和文化的发展，客观分析、辩证思考事物发展的因果关系；
2.加强学生对中国文化的自豪感和认同感，增强他们对母语学习和对中国文化的学习热情。
教学过程
Step1-Lead-in
Activity 1: Students will see “中国” in ancient Chinese n the PPT and guess which cuntry’s name it is.
Aim 1: T lead in vcabulary including picture-based language, lnggu, racle inscriptins, animal bnes, and shells.
Step2-Befre Reading (Predictin)
Activity 1: Students are asked t decide the genre f the text accrding t title and illustratin.
Aim 1: T encurage students t get infrmatin frm the title and picture and have a general understanding f the passage.
Activity 2: Students are invited t predict the cntent f this expsitin.
Aim 2: T strengthen the awareness f predictin.
Step3-While Reading
Activity 1: Students are given 8 min t read thrugh the passage and finish TASK 1 n their wrksheet (t summarize the develpment f the Chinese writing system ). Then, they will check predictins tgether.
Aim 1: T divide the passage int 3 parts and knw the details abut hw the Chinese writing system has develped.
Activity 2: Read thrugh the first paragraph in details.
Aim 2: T pay attentin t hw prnuns are used in reading.
Activity3: Check understanding abut the Chinese writing system at the beginning and fill in the blank.
Aim 3: T get t knw the histry frm the very beginning, what dash means in the passage, and that prpsitins may appear at different places in a sentence.
Activity4: Check understanding abut what happened by the Shang Dynasty.
Aim 4: T knw mre abut the details and fcus n the functin f lead t in reading;
t guess wrd (varieties) in the cntext.
Activity 5: Based n paragraph 5 and paragraph 6, Students will think abut hw the Chinese writing system cnnect the past and the present. Then, Students will finish TASK1 n STUDENT WORKSHEET.
Aim 6: T have deep understanding abut the imprtance f the Chinese writing system.

Activity1: Students are encuraged t think abut their wn life experiences and find ut ther means that cnnect the past and the present.
