4. What’s the difference between the tw grups f sentences?
The first grup uses the –ing frm as attributive while the secnd grup uses attributive clauses.
5. Why des the authr chse t use sentences (a) and (b) in the passage?
Because the sentences using the –ing frm as attributive are mre cncise and cllquial (口头的,口语的).
-ing frm can be used t mdify a nun when the nun is the lgic subject f the –ing frm.If there’s an –ing phrase, we shuld put the attributive part after the mdified nun;When using –ing frm instead f a clause, we can make a sentence mre cmpact and cherent;
