1 升调（ ）
通常用于表示疑问、惊讶、委婉或期待等语气。① 一般疑问句 D yu want t cme with me? 你想和我一起来吗？② 语气婉转的祈使句 Please wait a mment, will yu? 请稍等一下，好吗？③ 表示疑问、抱歉、轻蔑、不耐烦的句子 Really? 真的吗？
2 降调（ ）
常用于表示肯定、强调、完结或命令等语气。①陈述句I am a teacher. 我是一名教师。②特殊疑问句Where did yu g yesterday? 你昨天去哪里了？③表示命令的祈使句Stp talking! 别说话了！④感叹句What a beautiful day! 多么美好的一天啊！
3 升降调（先升后降， ）
常用于选择疑问句、列举事物或表示语气的转折。① 选择疑问句 Wuld yu like cffee r tea? 你想要咖啡还是茶？② 列举事物 We have three ptins: A, B, and C. 我们有三个选项：A、B和C。
4 降升调（先降后升， ）
常用于反意疑问句，特别是当说话者确实有疑问时。反意疑问句Yu have finished yur hmewrk, haven’t yu?你已经完成作业了，对吧？
5 平调（ ）
主要用于直接引语后，表示所说的话音调没有明显的高低变化。直接引语“I’m fine, thank yu,” she said flatly.“我很好，谢谢你。”她平淡地说。注意：虽然平调在英语中不如升调和降调那样常见或具有显著的语气功能，但在某些语境下，如表示冷静、客观或正式时，平调仍然有其独特的作用。
