Instead f abandning her rts, she started hsting free wrkshps at lcal cmmunity centers. “Many French peple think Chinese art is just dragn paintings r prcelain,” she says. “I wanted t shw them the depth f ur cultural heritage.”
The challenges were real. French students struggled with the duble-sided embridery technique, which requires identical patterns n bth sides f the fabric. “At first, their wrks were nt very gd,” Chen recalls. “But I tld them in Shu embridery, patience is mre valuable than speed.”

When we’re in truble, we always turn t ur parents fr help. But wuld yu like them t hear the cnversatins yu have with yur friends n the schl playgrund r lunch queue? Scial netwrking sites have becme extensins (延伸) f the schl hallways, s wuld yu add yur parents as “friends” and allw them t view yur nline activities and cnversatins with friends?

The term “filmmaking” aruses Hllywd charm and luxurius backdrps (奢华的背景). But it als has an imprtant place in anthrplgy (人类学), the scientific study f mankind, as ne f the many tls and technlgies these scientists use t understand cmmunities, relatinships, cultures and histry.

Thrugh visual ethngraphy, anthrplgists strive t dcument scial dynamics and traditins. But the field has slight differences. Fr example, filming can change hw lcal peple interact with each ther. It might make them hld back their wrds and their emtins. Over time, anthrplgists have adapted t this, and have cme t embrace their rles as active participants in the filmmaking.
“It has shifted frm using the camera as a windw int a wrld, and instead anthrplgists nw use the camera as a dr that lcal peple can walk thrugh. The creating prcess is much mre like a dialgue (对话),” said Bell.
But even thugh past films were partial “windws” int scieties and were shaped by thughts f the filmmakers, they still hld value fr anthrplgists seeking t give their study mre cntexts (语境), and fr cmmunities themselves seeking t understand their histry.
Since the late 60s, ethngraphic filmmaking has been mving beynd its clnial (殖民地的) rigins. The field nw wrks with cmmunities in partnerships, rather than distancing them. Anthrplgists like Fruzzetti and Ostr recgnize that develping lng-term, trust-based relatinships is crucial befre any camerawrk can begin.

33.What des the underlined wrd “their” in paragraph 6 refer t?
A.The lcal peple’s.B.The anthrplgists’.

A.filmmaking requires mre interactin with lcal cmmunities
B.mdern cameras can wrk in a wide range f envirnments
C.anthrplgists are better at giving cntexts t their films
D.dcumentaries in the past have lst their value in study

B.Hw filmmaking helps us better understand the wrld’s diversity.
C.Hw ethngraphic films build a clse cnnectin amng lcal peple.
D.Hw a museum curatr views the annual Mther Tngue Film Festival.
