(原创题)Adlescence is a critical time fr brain develpment, invlving grwth in scial skills and physical abilities. During this perid, advanced mental functins like planning and decisin-making mature. Hwever, scientists have nt fully understd hw the brain's cmplex netwrks frm during these years.
Fr a lng time, researchers believed that synapse numbers rise in childhd and then drp in adlescence due t "synaptic pruning," which remves weak cnnectins. This thery suggested that excessive pruning might cause mental disrders like schizphrenia, a cnditin invlving cnfused thinking and false beliefs.
Recently, scientists frm Kyushu University challenged this view. Using advanced tls, they studied muse brains and discvered that the adlescent brain des nt just remve cnnectins. Instead, it creates new, dense clusters f synapses, called "htspts," in specific parts f neurns. These htspts appear nly during adlescence, nt in early childhd.
The team fcused n Layer 5 f the cerebral crtex, a key area fr prcessing infrmatin. They fund that while pruning happens generally, new synapses frm actively in certain regins. In mice with genes linked t schizphrenia, this htspt frmatin failed, suggesting that building new cnnectins, nt just lsing them, is vital. If this prcess is disrupted, it may lead t mental health issues.
Althugh the study was dne n mice, it ffers new insights int human brain develpment. The researchers plan t explre which brain regins frm these cnnectins next. Understanding this prcess culd imprve ur knwledge f bth nrmal brain grwth and the causes f serius mental disrders.
32.What did the recent study by Kyushu University reveal abut the teen brain?
      A. It stps grwing synapses cmpletely.
      B. It nly remves weak neural cnnectins.
      C. It frms dense synapse clusters in specific areas.
      D. It develps slwer than previusly thught.
33.Why might the failure t frm synapse htspts be significant?
      A. It prves all mice will develp schizphrenia.
      B. It suggests a new cause fr certain mental disrders.
      C. It shws that pruning is the nly imprtant prcess.
      D. It indicates that Layer 5 is unimprtant fr thinking.
34.What can be inferred abut the previus thery f synaptic pruning?
      A. It fully explains hw schizphrenia develps.
      B. It needs t be updated based n new findings.
      C. It was prven crrect by the new muse study.
      D. It applies nly t human brains, nt mice.

根据第三段第二句“Instead, it creates new, dense clusters f synapses, called 'htspts,' in specific parts f neurns.”
根据第四段最后两句“In mice with genes linked t schizphrenia, this htspt frmatin failed... If this prcess is disrupted, it may lead t mental health issues.”
根据第三段第一句“Recently, scientists frm Kyushu University challenged this view.”
根据最后一段第一句“Mving frward, we hpe t identify which brain regins are frming these new synaptic cnnectins during adlescence,”可知,研究人员未来的目标是确定大脑中哪些区域正在形成这些新的突触连接。
