      2. Enable students t understand that everyne shuld vercme difficulties in a new situatin.
      教学过程
      SStep 1: Warming up
      Cmpare schl life in different places
      Step 2: While Reading
      Reading Skill: Yu can find main ideas by first taking a quick lk at the title, picture(s), key wrds and phrases, and tpic sentences.
      Activity: Read the text quickly t find the main idea f each paragraph. Guide the students t read the text quickly and fill in the blanks in this part. Pssible answers: Paragraph 1: Senir high schl is a challenge.
      Paragraph 2: Adam had t think very carefully abut taking suitable curses.
      Paragraph 3: Adam had t chse extra-curricular activities.
      Paragraph 4: Adam will have t study harder in the future and get used t being respnsible fr a lt mre.
      Step 3: Intensive Reading
      Read the text again and answer the questins.
      1. What curses did Adam chse? Which ne d yu think wuld be his favurite? Why?
      2. What des “make the team” in paragraph 3 mean?
      3. What is Adam wrried abut?
      4. Is Adam cnfident that he will get used t senir high schl life? Hw d yu knw?
      Pssible answers: He may chse maths, English, chemistry,wrld histry, and Chinese. I think advanced literature may be his favurite. Because he likes English and he is als gd at it. Successfully jin the team. He is a little wrried abut keeping up with the ther students in his advanced curse. Yes, he is. Because he is respnsible fr his study.
      Activity: Cmplete the utline
      Step 4: Pst Reading: Discuss the questins with yur partner.
