Mst peple wh ran the marathn last mnth spent days befre resting up and days after recvering. But nt Jacky Hunt-Brersma. In ttal, she ran 104 marathns in 104 days. If it’s cnfirmed by Guinness Wrld Recrds, that wuld be a new wrld recrd. And she did it all with ne leg and a prsthesis (假肢).
“Smene able-bdied had dne it previusly. I wanted t see if I culd d it n a prsthetic leg and see what wuld happen,” she said. “I thught it wuld be a great way t inspire thers t push their limits because I truly believe that we’re strnger than what we think. And I’ve been s pleasantly surprised that my bdy’s held up, everything’s held up and I’ve made it t 104.”
She actually did nt pick up the sprt until after she lst the lwer part f her left leg in 2001 t a type f cancer called Ewing sarcma. Runners using a prsthetic leg can’t use a regular ne. They need a running blade (刀锋式跑步义肢). Hunt-Brersma has tw, but she was nly able t run with ne because f the swelling she experienced in her left leg that made it impssible t cnnect t the ther blade. But even with the pain that ccurred, she has been able t put up with it and cntinued.
All tgether, Hunt-Brersma ran ver 4,385 kilmeters.
