      1. Ss bserve and cnclude the ways t identify the past perfect tense.
      Adverbial/cnjunctive : by,befre,when,until, since+ a past actin/time
      Adverbial: already, yet, just
      Cntext: An actin had happened befre a past actin/time
      Specific sentence patterns: * had + hped/wished/expected/thught/intended/meant/suppsed
      * It was the first/secnd… time + (that) sb. had dne sth.
      * “一……就……”:N sner had sb. dne than sb. did sth./
      Hardly/Scarcely had sb. dne when sb. did sth.
      Step 3: Hw t use the past perfect tense
      1. Cmplete the sentences in exercise 2 with the past perfect tense.
