      通过本节课的学习,学生能够:
      1.通过快速阅读,引导学生自主提问,预测文本的体裁和内容;
      2.通过整体阅读,从宏观上把握语篇结构,概括文本主旨,把握标题内涵;
      3.通过理清故事发展走向,在微观上梳理Claire对Tny的微妙情感变化,预测后续故事,培养逻辑思维能力;
      4.能够充分利用语篇结尾处留下的悬念,发挥想象力,体悟故事发展中运用时间线和情感线交织的方式建构文本的写作策略,对故事结局进行续写。
      教学内容
      教学重点:
      1.帮助学生在梳理女主角Claire情感变化的基础上,理解语篇中感情故事和机器人实验的明暗两条线索;
      2.引导学生充分利用语篇结尾处留下的悬念,发挥想象力,体悟故事发展中运用时间线和情感线交织的方式建构文本的写作策略,对故事结局进行续写。
      教学难点:
      1.帮助学生梳理女主角Claire在故事中的情感变化及原因,掌握故事的叙事明线及心理活动的变化过程;
      2.引导学生结合语篇内容和自己的认知,对人类和机器人的关系展开初步探讨。

      联系标题,思考如何保障人类满意 发挥想象,续写故事结局
      教学过程:
      Step 1:Lead-in: Lk and discuss
      Lk at the picture n the Opening Page and discuss the fllwing questins.
      1. What d yu see in the picture?
      2. What things des this picture remind yu f ?
      3. Read the qute written by Isaac Asimv. D yu agree with it? Why r why nt?
      【设计意图】教师通过提问引导学生观察、讨论主题图,理解单元标题的含义。学生理解引言内涵,初步感知单元主题意义,从而激发学生对探索科学现实与科幻作品之间关系的兴趣。

      3.What are the relatinships amng them? (analyse the relatinship f the characters)

      Analyze the stry by using questin chains:
      1. What was Claire’s attitude befre Tny’s arrival? Why did she finally change her mind?
      (She disliked t have the rbt in her huse. Finally she was persuaded by her husband.)
      2. Hw did Larry persuade Claire?
      (Larry persuaded that the rbt wuldn’t harm her r allw her t be harmed. It wuld be a bnus.)
      3. At the first sight f Tny, hw did Claire feel? Why?
      (She felt alarmed, because he seemed mre like a human than a machine.)
      4. Culd yu give us a detailed descriptin f Tny?
      (He was tall and handsme with smth hair and a deep vice.)
      5. Was Claire satisfied with Tny? Which aspect f Tny was satisfying?
      (Tny’s appearance was satisfying.)
      6. On the secnd mrning, what did Tny ffer and hw did Claire feel?
      (Tny ffered t help dress her, which made Claire embarrassed.)
      Besides feeling embarrassed, what ther feelings did Claire have?
      (She als felt disturbed and frightened because Tny lked s human.)

      She had a sense f failure. She thught she was nt clever, her huse was nt elegant and the saleswman was rude t her. She wished t be anther Gladys. When wrking n the imprvement f her huse, she fell ff the ladder.

      【设计意图】帮助学生梳理推动故事情节发展的主要线索,即Claire对Tny 从排斥、警觉,到接受、信任,再到被深深吸引的情感变化过程。

      Cnclusin: Claire was mre than satisfied with Tny. In fact, she was s satisfied with him that he even became attached t Tny, r rather, fell in lve with a machine. (a perfect lver)
      【设计意图】通过问题链形式,让学生通读全文,明确从Claire的角度来看,Tny扮演了什么样的角色,是否令人满意?从哪个角度来看令人满意?(Tny was a husehld rbt, but he was mre than a husehld rbt.)同时,让学生用高度提炼的词组进行总结,培养学生的概括能力。此外,引导学生关注文中的细节描写,培养学生的批判性思维能力。通过凸显女主人公对于机器人的行为转变让学生理解女主人公已经陷入一种复杂而矛盾的感情漩涡中,为最后理解Tny为何需要重造作好铺垫。

      Step 7: Appreciate the riginal ending and cmpare it with yurs.

      【设计意图】鼓励学生从不同角度续写结尾,如happy ending,sad ending,surprising ending等,引导学生通过提问的方式主动思考与想象故事情节的发展和结局。通过比较故事的原始结尾和学生自己续写的结尾,发表个人看法。
