    The text type is practical writing abut a shrt intrductin t the ancient Chinese art exhibitin. The text is usually shwn n the website f art galleries r museums. The cntent f this passage can be divided int fur parts. An intrductin f the exhibitin is presented in Part 1(para 1); Part 2 (para 2-4) is abut three highlights f the exhibitin; Part 3 (para5) summarizes the exhibitin briefly; Part 4 (para6-9) prvides sme details abut the exhibitin.
    Ⅱ. Instructinal bjectives:
    At the end f this class, students will be able t:
    1. knw the writing type f the passage
    2. write an art exhibitin annuncement.
    3. deepen the reading skills f skimming and scanning.
    4. cultivate students’ awareness f spreading Chinese culture.

    Guide and assist students t master the text structure and language features f practical writing.

    Step1 Lead-in
    Activity 1. Brainstrming
    Enjy sme pictures f Chinese artwrks and identify them. Then, students will be encuraged t think f mre related Chinese artwrks and prepare fr reading and writing.
    Justificatin: aruse students’ interest, and enable them t engage in the class activities actively.

    Step2 Pre-writing
    Activity 2. Predictin
    Students skim the title and pictures t identify the text type.

    Justificatin: prepare fr reading
    Activity 3. Skimming
    After predictin, they are asked t skim the text quickly t see whether they are right r nt. Then, the teacher leads students t identify the text type f the passage. Finally, students cnclude the main idea and figure ut the structure f this passage.
    Justificatin: study the structure f practical writing s that students can prduce ne f their wn.
    Activity 4. Detailed reading
    Students read the passage carefully t find the basic infrmatin. Then, they fill in the blanks t knw hw t write an art exhibitin annuncement.
    Justificatin: Practice reading a passage fr details and language features. Help students t fully understand the text t supprt Step 4.
    Activity 5. Critical thinking
    Students discuss with their partners, brainstrm the details, structure and language features abut the exhibitin and take ntes.

    Justificatin: Help students learn frm each ther and get advice fr imprving their wrk. Getting anther persn’s pinin and help in checking yur wrks is an imprtant aspect f writing.

    Try t write an annuncement named Beynd the Bunds f Histry: A Cllabrative Exhibitin Between the Palace Museum and Dunhuang.
