教学目标:
- 掌握could, couldn’t, ago的用法;
- 掌握部分不规则动词的过去式;
- 能在具体情境中区别使用一般过去时和一般现在时;
- 能够就自己、他人及生活的变化展开简单的英文表述;
- 在话题讨论和课堂学习中能够感悟到时间带给我们的变化。
教学重点:
- 掌握could, couldn’t, ago的用法;
- 掌握部分不规则动词的过去式;
- 能在具体情境中区别使用一般过去时和一般现在时。
教学难点:
- 能够就自己、他人及生活的变化展开简单的英文表述;
- 在话题讨论和课堂学习中能够感悟到时间带给我们的变化。
教学准备:
- 学生准备两张以前和现在的照片
- 作业纸
教学过程::
Activity One : Lead in
1.Free talk
T: I’m your new teacher today. So do you want to know sth. about me?
- Play a game
Here are some sentences. If you think it is right, you can say Yes, Yes, Yes. If it’s
wrong, say No, No, No.
- Seventeen years ago, I could teach.
- A week ago, I couldn’t speak English.
- I couldn’t drive twenty years ago.
- Three days ago, I was very short.

Activity Two : Presentation
1. Look and learn
T: Now you have a general idea of me. Let’s look into these sentences again. Here...
(1). could/ couldn’t
(1) The verb stem of “could” is ...(can).
(2) The full form of “couldn’t” is ...(could not).
(3) “could” and “couln’t”, they’re both... (情态动词)
(4) So after “could” and “couldn’t”, we should use... (动词原形)
(2).ago
T: Let’s look into them again. These four sentences all include a same word ...( ago)
Q: Where does “ago” place in the sentence? Please look into sentence1,2 and 4. And what about sentence3? Can you find the rule?

Lerning tip2: ago表示时间的短语,既可以放在句首,与后面的句子用逗号隔开;也可放在句末。
Exercise: Sentence3: I couldn’t drive twenty years ago.
= Twenty years ago, I couldn’t drive.
Q: When do we use “ago”?
A. Simple present tense B. Simple past tense

2. Look and compare
T: Now let’s compare these two tenses and try to find the differences between
them.
OK. Boys and gils, if you can find the two differences, I’ll give you a prize. Do you want it?
I can give you some tips. Here’s a table of changes of Mike’s family we lerned last lesson. You can find some clues from it.
Tip1: The left is things happend many years ago. The right is things happen
now.
Tip 2: Pay attention to the words in rend and blue.

3. Watch and fill in blanks
Prize: watch a well-know story The Ugly Duckling
1. In the past, the duck ugly.

Activity Three : Consolidation
- Look and say
A photo of teacher twenty yaers ago. Describe me.
2. Listen and choose
T: Here are more photos. But not all of them are me. Let’s listen and pick my right
photo out.
(1) Which was I twenty years ago?
(2) What about five years ago?

3. Show time
T: OK. These are my change. What about you? Now take out your photos. Look and
say something about you in the past and now. Prepare it for 3minnutes.

4.Read and say
T: We all change a lot. There are many other changes in our life. Let’s find. Read the four sentences, and choose one as you like. Try to say something about changes in our life.

3._____________, _________________, but now......use....
4._____________, _________________, but now......go... by...
T: With time goes, everyone and everthing changes. So Time changes our life.
