教学过程
Activity 1: Review and Retell
T presents the wrd clud f the vcabulary in this unit. Ss try t review them and retell the prcess abut hw artemisinin was discvered.
[Purpse] The use f wrd clud may make Ss’ eyes light up, which helps stimulate Ss’ mtivatin in this class. And the task is t intrduce the target vcabulary.
Activity 2: Quiz
Ss write dwn the wrd that matches each definitin. This is a quick test f sme f the tpic vcabulary.
[Purpse] It aims at helping Ss reinfrce the new wrds and accumulate tpical vcabulary.
Activity 3: Fill in blanks
Ss need t figure ut the the parts f speech f the underlined wrds first, and guess the meaning f them. Then they try t fill in the blanks with wrds that have the same rt.
When checking the answers, T guides t pay attentin t sme lexical chunk, such as stand up t, wear and tear, cme t a cnclusin.
T guides Ss t learn a categry f wrd-frmatin called derivatin, briefly intrducing the use f prefix and suffix.
And then, Ss try t finish the filling.
Later, Ss wrk in teams, and chse ne wrd frm each grups f wrds, trying t make their wn sentences by using the five wrds.
[Purpse]It aims t help Ss understand and practise the use f rts f English wrds with the vcabulary frm the text.
Activity 4: Read and fill
Ss read the passage f Lu Xun first, then try t fill in the blanks with the crrect frms f the wrks in the bx.
[Purpse] Ss can understand and practice the wrds in the specific tpic-related cntext, further reinfrcing the tpical vcabulary.
Activity 5: Read and Think
Ss read the abve passage abut Lu Xun again, and try t answer the fllwing questins.
1. What was Lu Xun’s riginal bjective?
2. What made him change his mind?
3. If yu were him, wuld yu change yur mind? Why r why nt?
4. Which f his great qualities can be inferred frm the passage?
5. What title wuld yu give t the passage?
[Purpse] This is an extended task. In this task, Ss can think deeply and critically, and explre the thematic meaning f the text, which als partly aims at mral educatin.
Activity 6: Discussin
T presents sme famus peple f achievement. Ss wrk in pairs and discuss hw peple can achieve success, using wrds and expressins they have learned in this unit.
After that, T shares a vide abut success with Ss t end the class.
[Purpse] Ss can practise using the vcabulary in this unit in a cnversatin, freely expressing their pinins.
