The Dujiangyan irrigatin system is near Chengdu in Sichuan Prvince. It was built ver 2,200 years ag t slve a water prblem: the Minjiang River frequently flded the area. Instead f building a dam, Li Bing, the gvernr, divided the river int channels. This cntrlled the flds and prvided water fr farming. As a result, farmers culd grw mre plants.
