      shuld “应当”,表示建议或劝告,可用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句。 shuldn’t / shuld nt“不应” e.g. Yu shuld listen t the dctr’s advice.你应当听从医生的建议。Yu shuldn’t eat t much junk fd if yu want t stay healthy.如果你想保持健康,就不应该吃太多垃圾食品。
      2. must “必须”,用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句。 mustn’t “不应该”、“禁止” e.g. She must learn t manage her time better.她必须学会更好地管理时间。Yu mustn’t talk ludly in the library.图书馆内禁止大声喧哗。
      3. can“请求允许”“给予许可”,用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句。 can’t /cannt“不能,不可以”,语气弱于mustn’t。 e.g. When yu get t knw each ther better r when they ask yu t, yu can just use their first names.当你们更加熟悉或他们请你(这样做)时,你就可以只称呼他们的名字了。Yu can’t put the milk in first. 你不能先倒入牛奶。Can I have a lk at yur phts?我能看看你的照片吗?

      4. need“需要” ,用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句。 needn’t/need nt“不需要,不必要” 。 e.g. If she wants anything, she need nly ask.如果她要什么,说一下就行。Yu needn’t wait. 你不必等待。
      need “需要”,也可作为行为动词,常用于need t d sth。
      e.g. I need t clean the huse.Yu dn’t need t leave nw. It’s still early.
      看下列三组例句,归纳must, can, need的一般疑问句构成及回答。
      — Must I cme befre 6:30 tmrrw?— Yes, yu must. (表示一定要) — N, yu needn’t. = N, yu dn’t have t. (表示没必要)
      — Can we g hme nw, please?— Yes, yu can. (表示允许)— N, yu can’t. (表示不允许)
      5. 看下列三组例句,体会归纳must, can, need的一般疑问句 构成及回答。
      — Need I reprt it t the plice?— Yes, yu must. (表示必须做)— N, yu needn’t. (表示没必要)
      must引起的一般疑问句,否定回答可用___________;need引起的一般疑问句肯定回答可用 _______。

      6. have t“必须,不得不,被迫” ,侧重于客观需要。 dn’t have t = needn’t “不必” 。
      e.g. My bike was brken yesterday, s I had t walk t schl.昨天我的自行车坏了,所以我只能走路去学校。Yu dn’t have t tell him abut it.你不必告诉他这件事。(他可能知道了或者没有必要让他知道)
      must 侧重于说话者的主观看法,认为有必要或有义务去做某事;mustn’t 表示“禁止、不应该”,语气强烈。
      e.g. All passengers must wear seat belts.所有乘客都要系安全带。Yu mustn’t tell him abut it.你绝对不要告诉他这件事。(可能是秘密)
      7. had better“最好……” ,表示劝告或建议。一般不用于疑问句中,但可用于否定句中,形式是had better nt。
      e.g. Yu’d better get sme sleep.你最好睡一会儿。Yu’d better nt waste any mre f yur time.你最好别再浪费你的时间了。
