    Activity Listen and circle the words you think are stressed
    THE ARROW AND THE SONG
    I shot an arrow into the air,
    It fell to earth,I knew not where;
    For,so swiftly it flew,the sight
    Could not follow it in its flight.

    I breathed a song into the air,
    It fell to earth,I knew not where;
    For who has sight so keen and strong,
    That it can follow the flight of song?

    Long,long afterwards,in an oak
    I found the arrow,still unbroke;
    And the song,from beginning to end,
    I found again in the heart of a friend.
    H.W.Longfellow
    NIGHT
    The sun descending in the west,
    The evening star does shine;
    The birds are silent in their nest,
    And I must seek for mine.
    The moon,like a flower,
    In heaven’s high bower,
    With silent delight,
    Sits and smiles on the night.

    Farewell,green fields and happy groves,
    Where flocks have took delight.
    Where lambs have nibbled,silent moves
    The feet of angels bright;
    Unseen,they pour blessing,
    And joy without ceasing,
    On each bud and blossom,
    And each sleeping bosom.
    William Blake

    Part Ⅵ Homework
    THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
    (by Robert Frost)
    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
    And sorry I could not travel both
    And be one traveler,long I stood
    And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;
    Then took the other,as just as fair,
    And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
    Though as for that the passing there
    Had worn them really about the same,
    And both that morning equally lay
    In leaves no step had trodden black.
    Oh,I kept the first for another day!
    Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
    I doubted if I should ever come back.
    I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
    Two roads diverged in a wood,and I—
    I took the one less traveled by,
    And that has made all the difference.

    The Road Not Taken is a narrative poem which is one of Frost’s most popular works.The language of the poem is simple and natural which makes it easy to understand.

    As is shown in the poem,in the journey of life,we often have to make a choice between two paths or two ideas.Our choice will determine the direction of our life.When face with them,we always tend to hesitate,but we must make a decision.No matter which path we choose,we must look ahead,and stick to it.As long as we persist,we’ll have a meaningful journey.
