    Ⅰ.阅读
Devon Gallagher,a college graduate from Philadelphia, wants the world to know exactly where she’s been during her worldwide vacation in a special way.
The traveller, who was born with a bone disease, had her right leg amputated(截肢) at the age of four.Although the amputation caused setbacks for Gallagher early on,she now sees it as nothing short of inspiration for living her best life.
To spread that message,Gallagher has turned to social media, where she shares photos of her travels across the globe, but instead of simply using a geotag (地理标签),she writes her location across her artificial leg before taking a picture.
Now she has been taking pictures across the Continent, which show her cycling over the canal in Amsterdam, relaxing on a wall overlooking the city of Barcelona, posing with a waffle in Brussels, taking spectacular pictures in Athens and enjoying a river cruise in Budapest, all with the well-known locations written on her artificial leg.
“I get a new leg every two years and I can choose the design on it.One day I had a sudden thought to get a chalkboard,” Gallagher said.“My mum and grandmother weren’t too keen on the idea, but my friends thought it was great and told me to go for it,so I did.”
Gallagher said people often stared when she was writing on her leg.But once she shared the photos, she received only positive feedback.“My leg hasn’t stopped me from doing anything I’ve wanted to do,” she said.“I don’t know if it’s my determination to prove to myself that I can do it,but regardless,I’ve been able to keep up with my peers and lead a pretty great life.”
Gallagher shows us that you should never let anything stand in the way of your dreams. And if life gives you an artificial leg, make art.
1.What message did Gallagher want to spread in her special way?
A.She enjoys her travelling across the globe.
B.She suffers little from her leg amputation.
C.She looks on her misfortune as another form of blessing.
D.She has exactly fallen in love with posting photos online.

I started to work as an editor for a travel magazine.I didn’t really mind the work, but I wanted something more challenging. My sister sent me some details for a position in a start-up.The job was a seemingly perfect mix of my skills and interests,so I jumped at it.
However, soon after I joined the company, its model changed to focus on K-12 education, and everything about my position changed.I was asked to take on the completely different roles of selling contents to teachers and training people.I had no experience in sales, training or education. On top of that,I’m an introvert (内向的人).I felt more than a little outside my comfort zone.
I knew I wanted to grow as an individual and make a serious impact on the company.I told myself that everything feels overwhelming at first and I should at least try.In a way,I felt like I didn’t have a choice.I knew jumping out of the nest was the right thing for me,even though it felt pretty awful.
I was fortunate to be surrounded by very helpful people, both at work and at home.My boss never asked if I thought I could do it; she asked if I was interested in trying.
I spent hours researching my company’s products.I asked lots of questions and spoke to so many teachers that there were soon more good experiences than difficult ones.I looked for opportunities to put in extra effort. The more I did,the better I felt.
Over time,I discovered that the job was something I could do and liked doing. It was incredibly rewarding to see the company grow.I also learned it’s important to take risks and accept new opportunities, even when you’re not sure if you’ll do well.I don’t think there’s anything worse than failing to try.I’m so glad I tried, and it surely paid off.
24.Why did the author want to change her job?

B.To warn about the risks and challenges when changing jobs.
C.To expose risks and challenges in a small and newly founded company.
D.To encourage readers to take on challenges and turn risks into opportunities.

    How Can I Fight Laziness?
Lazy people will never amount to anything in life. However, laziness can be defeated once a few changes have been made in your mind.
    36. Many people lack sleep constantly, since they stay up too late and get up too early to prepare for work. These people have little motivation once they arrive home.Laziness works hand in hand with a lack of motivation and a tendency (趋势) to put off things.By adjusting your sleep schedule to provide a few more hours of meaningful rest, you can fight laziness throughout the day.
Another way to fight laziness is to change your mind from passive to active.
    37. Others take a more active approach, viewing each task as a challenge they must overcome alone.Laziness sets in when you no longer feel in charge of your own life.
Some people fight laziness by removing the temptations (诱惑) that surround them.A television in the living room may provide entertainment. However, watching too much TV in your spare time often contributes to laziness.38. Complete a few tasks and reward yourself with what you enjoy, such as a good dinner or a film.Laziness can also be a lasting problem at home.Couples and children may all have different energy levels, but laziness can be spread if not dealt with immediately.
    39. Be the first to collect and wash dishes after a meal.Others in the home may eventually follow your example and perform their own task.It is difficult to practice laziness when you are surrounded by motivated people.
    40. Enough exercise and a balanced diet can enable you to have more energy and help lift your spirits.
A.To fight family laziness, set an example.
B.Knowing how to fight laziness is important.
C.One way to fight laziness is to get enough sleep.
D.Finally, developing a healthy lifestyle can help you fight laziness.
E.With strong determination (意志力),you will be able to achieve your goal.
F.Some people treat their lives as if they were pushed from task to task.
G.Create a reward system for yourself, just as parents do for a child.

some...others...
最后一段的“exercise and a balanced diet”都属于健康的生活方式(healthy lifestyle),与选项D相对应,故选D。

45.B 根据下文的“They can feel it and see it.”
47.C 由句中的“quarrels with parents or friends, failures in sports or just laziness”可知,这些会让学生陷入困境(trouble),故选C。
    选A。
51.C 根据上文和“he’ll often be braver and more confident”可知,应让学生独立(independently)思考做决定,故选C。

    65. (look) into my past, today and the future,” he added.
with a length of意为“长度为……”。
故填which。
固定词组in the presence of意为“在…… 故填in。
It takes sb.some time to do sth. 故填It。
64.have been drawing 考查时态。根据“over the past months和for more than 10 hours a day”可知,此处用现在完成进行时态。故填have been drawing。

In 1989,fresh out of high school,I had the difficult task of choosing a career path before college started in three months. In those days in Pakistan, there were limited options:becoming a doctor or an engineer,or entering the financial world after getting a business degree.I wasn’t interested in engineering,so that I was left with medicine or business.I couldn’t decide.
My uncle, one of the elders in the family, suggested that I do a work placement to experience it for a month in an international company followed by a month in a hospital. After that,I could make a decision. It seemed like a brilliant idea.
I was accepted for a month’s placement at a foreign bank in Karachi.I got a feel for how the world of finance functioned, made new friends, and generally enjoyed the mostly easy-going work surroundings.
The month passed rapidly, and soon I began working at a leading hospital in Karachi. The experience couldn’t have been more different. The hospital had an intense environment. The days started early (at 7 am,compared to 9 am at the bank),and were filled with endless duties. And the night calls! This was crazy, working all day,
through the night, and again the next day.
I began thinking about my two experiences. The bank had offered a more relaxing atmosphere, better working hours and less stress. The hospital was full of excitement and unpredictability, but the studying and training were difficult. It seemed that the business option was going to win out.
Near the end of my month at the hospital,I was driving home after an especially busy night call. There was a public bus in front of me,with college students sitting on the top.As the driver weaved through (穿梭) traffic,I could see the boys shaking from side to side.
    Paragraph 1:
Suddenly,a boy fell off the back of the bus.

    Paragraph 2:
The next day, when I went to hospital to see the boy,all his family got up,with grateful smiles on their faces.

      One possible version:
Suddenly,a boy fell off the back of the bus.He hit the road face down and rolled over.He lay still in the middle of the road as the bus sped away.None of the cars behind the bus stopped.Thinking that he could die in a matter of minutes,I stopped my car and carefully examined the boy. With the help of some passers-by,I lifted the unconscious boy into the car and raced back to the hospital. After his family was contacted, and he was wheeled into emergency surgery,I drove home, exhausted but happy.
The next day, when I went to hospital to see the boy,all his family got up,with grateful smiles on their faces. What a good feeling it was to help save the life of another person!I spent the rest of the day in a state of the most fabulous mood I had ever experienced.Driving home that evening,I decided on my career path. Two months of placements could not do what 30 minutes’ helping an accident victim had done for me.This experience taught me that at times, the decisions are made for
you—and that whatever happens is always for the best.
