Cafe Terrace at Night
Despite being painted mre than 130 years ag, this cafe still exists in France and has since been renamed the Cafe Van Ggh.This artwrk marks the first time Van Ggh's famus pst-impressinistic star-filled sky was seen in a piece, and it was painted n the grund, in persn, rather than frm memry.While the artwrk desn't bear his signature, it's widely knwn t be Van Ggh's, as he mentined Cafe Terrace at Night in a number f his letters.
Wheat Field With Cypresses
This piece was inspired by the view frm Van Ggh's asylum windw and was finished n the spt.The wrk was the title f three paintings that ffer an insight int his stay at the hspital. Van Ggh was s pleased with the summer landscape that he made three cpies there, ne f the same size—which hangs in the Natinal Gallery and tw smaller cpies which he planned t gift t his mther and sister.
