2.Analyze and summarize the structure f the text and language features f a ppular science article frm their wn pinin abut the imprtance f carrying n space explratin cnsidering the latest space explratin prgrams in China.

·Step 1. Lead-in
Activity1:warming up
Shw the students a vide abut space. Aruse their interest in space.
Activity2:Read fr predictin
Students lk at the title, the pictures t think abut the tpic and predict the cntent f the article based n this infrmatin.
Ask students t talk abut Chang’e 5 r ther latest space explratin prgrams
and think abut the main reasns fr space explratin (n page 40).
(Tip: The teacher ffers sme reference wrds t students: vehicle, universe,
satellite, launch, rbit, data, etc.)
·Invite students t present what they knw abut space explratin.
Step 2. Skimming
Activity 1:Read fr gist
Students scan the cntent f the article and chse the writing style and resurce.
Activity 2:Read fr structure
Students read the text and chse the crrect sentence A-D t fill each gap.Step 2 Predicting
·Ask students t read the title and lk at the three pictures n pages 40 and 41,
and then predict what the text is abut.(Ask students the fllwing questins:
1)What genre is the text? 2)Where can yu find this type f article?)
Invite sme students t reprt their answers.

Student summarize the main idea fr each paragraph.

Ask the student t answer the questin and fill the frm.

Ask the student t answer the questin and find the sentences.

Ask the student t analyze and then translate the sentences int Chinese.
