3. summarize the related sentence patterns abut asking abut and describing health prblems.
4. make up a cnversatin t talk abut health prblems using the target language and rle-play it.

Have students lk at the theme picture n the pening page and think abut the questins n
Page 11. Invite sme students t share their answers.
Teaching Tip:Sme students may have difficulties expressing answers in English
and may speak Chinese. The teacher can encurage them t paraphrase the wrds r
expressins in easier English. Fr example, students dn't knw the wrd “fever”and
they can be guided t say “feel ht”r “the temperature is high". Then, the teacher can
present the target vcabulary(E.g.,“fever”) t the class.
2.Guide students t realize the tpic f the unit is abut health.
Brainstrm
Ask students t brainstrm mre health prblems in daily life. The teacher can present
sme related pictures t help students. Pre-teach the related new wrds and expressins
during the prcess.

2. Ask students t d the match exercise and check answers in pairs.
Language Tip: Guide students t pay attentin t the cmmn feature f these wrds (stmachache, headache, tthache, backache):They all cntain “bdy part + ache". Then the teacher can intrduce similar wrds. Fr example,neckache,earache...
Fr the wrd “cut”, the teacher can remind students t pay attentin t the part f speech. The teacher can use the tw sentences t help students t get the meanings.

1. Have students retell the students’health prblems and the causes accrding t the cmpleted
table. The teacher can give an example like this:
David has a stmachache because he ate t much at a friend's birthday party yesterday.
2. Remind students t pay attentin t the tense while retelling.

The lessn n health prblems wrked well in engaging students. They grasped “bdy part + ache” quickly thrugh examples,and the rle-play in 1d shwed they culd use the new expressins flexibly. Yet,a few students lagged in the gap-filling task in lc,maybe due t the fast speech in the recrding. Next time,I'll slw dwn the audi r pause at key pints..
