      Step 1 Warming-up
      1. Enjy a sng
      T: First, let’s enjy a sng.
      Lyrics:

      I meet my friends and we all say.
      Hell! Hell! Hw are yu?
      I’m gd. I’m great.
      I’m gd. I’m great. Hw abut yu?
      T: D yu have many friends at schl? Tday, we’ll cntinue t learn Unit 4 and knw mre abut friends. Let’s read the title tgether: Unit 4 This is my friend.
      2. Quick respnse
      T: We meet many friends in ur bk. D yu remember them? Please say their names quickly and ludly. Yu can use “This is ...”. If yu can use “He’s ..” r “She’s ...”, that’s better. Let’s try.

      Step 2 Let’s learn
      1. Pint and read
      T: This is Zhang Hua. It’s the title f Stry time. Please turn t P36. Let’s pint and read.
      2. Watch and answer
      T: Lk at the pictures. D they knw each ther? Let’s watch the vide and try t find ut the answer.
      T: They dn’t knw each ther at first.Wh is the new friend? Yes, Zhang Hua.
      3. Read and find
      T: Hw d they intrduce a new friend? Please read Stry time and try t find the key sentences.
      Wang Bing: Hi, Liu Ta. This is my friend, Zhang Hua.
      Wang Bing: Zhang Hua, this is Liu Ta. He’s my friend.
      Liu Ta: This is Su Hai. She’s my friend. (Teach: she’s=she is)
      T: Lk! We have different ways t intrduce ur friends. Let’s read tgether. (This is my friend, Zhang Hua. = This is Zhang Hua. He’s my friend.)
      4. Cmpare and practise
      T: Let’s fcus n these tw sentences. “He’s my friend.” “ She’s my friend.” What’s the difference?
      T: We use he t talk abut a man r a by. We use she t talk abut a wman r a girl. Let’s play a game and try t intrduce friends with “He’s...” r “She’s ...”.
      PPT: Miss Li/Bbby/Mike/Su Hai/Mnkey King/Yang Ling/Elsa
      T: Did yu get them right? Well dne! Yu knw hw t use “He’s...” and “She’s ...”. Remember that we can use these sentences t talk abut man, wman, by and girl.
      T: Lk at ur friends in the bk. When they intrduce their friends, they use their palms. It’s mre plite than pinting at thers.
      5. Observe and say
      T: Lk at Zhang Hua. What des he say? Why des he say this sentence?
      Teach: it’s=it is
      T: Zhang Hua wants t praise Liu Ta. If yu were Liu Ta, what wuld yu say?
      Teach: Thank yu. Th--an--k区别于this中th的发音。thank和yu可以连读。
      T: What else des Liu Ta say? Can yu read this sentence? (I have many friends in my class.)
      Teach: have many
      Distinguish a friend and many friends by pictures.

      T: Nw yu knw the stry well. Let’s imitate and read after the tape.

      T: Please chse ne character and take turns t intrduce ther students in grups.
      Step 3 Let’s make
      T: We knw s many friends in the bk. Wh are yur friends? Let’s make a card abut them and intrduce them t class. Lk! This is my card. First, I write the title “My friends”. Next, I stick their phts. Then, I write their names. At last, I intrduce like this.
      Mdel: I have many friends.This is Max. He’s my friend. This is Willy. He’s my friend t.
      Ss: I have many friends. This is ... She’s my friend. This is... He’s my friend t.
      Tips:
      1. 两个字。姓和名之间空一格,首字母都要大写。例如:Liu Ta、Su Hai。
      2. 三个字。姓和名之间空一格,首字母要大写。姓和名各看做一个单词。 例如:Li Xiafei(单姓)、Zhuge Liang(复姓)。
      3. 四个字。姓和名各看作一个单词,首字母大写。例如:Liu Jiewanyi(单姓)、Murng Yunhai(复姓)。

      Step 4 Let’s sing
      T: Are yu happy t make friends? D yu knw hw t make mre friends? We can sing tgether t answer this big questin. I sing the purple lines. Yu sing the blue lines.

      The mre we get tgether, the happier we’ll be.
      Blue: Cause yur friends are my friends. And my friends are yur friends.
      Purple: The mre we get tgether, the happier we’ll be.
      Blue: I’m yur friend. Yu’re my friend. He’s my friend. She’s my friend.
      Step 5 Hmewrk
      1. Listen, read and act ut the stry.
      2. Intrduce yur new friends t yur family.
      3. Finish the wrksheet.
