本单元的话题是中国书法,阅读文本“The Chinese Writing System:Cnnecting the Past and the Present”揭示了中国书法的发展历程以及中国书法的巨大连接作用。它的连接作用又可以细分为连接中国和世界、连接语言和艺术、连接人类和文化、连接过去和现在具体四个方面。通过讲解中国书法的有关知识,教师旨在唤起学生们对博大精深的中国文化的由衷自豪感,力图增强他们的文化自信和爱国主义精神。
该文是说明性语篇,采取引出主题(intrductin)、主题(tpic)和深化主题(deepening)三步曲的方法,层层深入,环环相扣。在引出主题时采取的方法是反衬法,第一个反衬是采用介词despite引导的先扬后抑:China is widely knwn fr its ancient civilizatin which has cntinued all the way thrugh int mdern times, despite the many ups and dwns in its histry. 而第二个反衬则是使用连词but引导的先扬再扬。 本文的主题(tpic)是ne f the main factrs has been the Chinese writing system. 在深化主题方面,作者讲述了两个方面的话题,一是围绕中国书法的发展(develpment)采取时间顺序(time rder)回答如何发展(hw)的问题。二是围绕中国书法的作用(functins)采取并列关系描述中国书法的四个连接功能,即连接中国和世界、连接语言和艺术、连接人类和文化、连接过去和现在。
在阅读策略方面,可以围绕语篇框架结构,采用主页面加超链接的形式把中国书法的主题以及中国书法develpment 和functin两个方面分别展开,阐述完成后再返回主页面进行归纳,最后达成语言输出(language utput),即讨论(discussin)和写作(writing)的方式完成授课任务。
教学目标
1. Enable the students t have a clearer understanding f the whle passage structure.
2. Enable the students t have a deeper insight f the develpment and functins f the Chinese calligraphy.
3. Think abut the future f the Chinese language and the Chinese calligraphy.
4. Aruse the students’ enthusiasm and pride f the prfund Chinese culture.
教学内容:
教学重点:
Students are suppsed t have a better understanding f the tpic f the passage and its structure. Besides, by learning the knwledge f the Chinese calligraphy, students get t knw hw it develps with the time ging by and what advantages it brings t us.
教学难点:
The students may have sme difficulty in understanding sme vcabulary such as ups and dwns, many varieties f, be f great imprtance and the regard fr.
教学过程:
Activity 1: Lead-in
Ask the students t watch a vide abut the Chinese calligraphy.
Ask the students a questin: What is the tpic f the vide?
设计意图:从学生的实际出发,引入语篇主题---中国书法,由于是视频材料,学生们会比较直观,马上就能引起他们的兴趣,从而可以高效切入主题。
Activity2: Skimming
1. Ask the students t divide the passage int three parts.
2. Ask the students t find ut the main ideas f each part :tpic、develpment and functins.
设计意图:通过交互式超链接,呈现课堂中最主要的页面,也就是语篇结构和段落大意,从而为下一步具体篇章深入分析和说写语言输出打好扎实的基础。
Activity3: Scanning
Ask the students t analyze the paragraphs ne by ne.
Ask the students t have an understanding f the develpment f the Chinese Calligraphy by the time rder.
Ask the students t emphasize the cnnecting functins by lcating sme relevant sentences.
设计意图:通过阅读具体有关中国书法的发展和中国书法的功能的内容,我们期望学生们能够更加深入了解中国书法的知识和意义。
Activity4: Language Output
Ask the students what ther factrs there are in Chinese culture.
Ask the students whether the Chinese language will be as imprtant as English and becme a glbal language.
设计意图:通过讨论可以深化主题,回归到英语核心素养中的情感态度,即增强文化自信和民族自豪感。
Activity5: Hmewrk
Ask the students t write a summary f the passage.
Ask the students t design a pster t intrduce the develpment f Chinese characters.
设计意图:通过写作可以作为语言输出方式,总结语篇内容,升华语篇主题。
