学情教材分析

Textbook Analysis:

    In section A, there are common illness. While in Section B, we are going to talking about accidents and emergencies. And in this period, here is mainly about listening and speaking practice.

Student Analysis:

    With the learning of Section A, the students have mastered enough knowledge about body parts and health problems, and how to give advice as well. So for this period, it will not be difficult for them to learn and master.

Write down the words, phrases, or sentences carefully and correctly.

Show some pictures about health problems on PPT and have the students practice the conversations.

Volunteer to practice the conversations and consolidate what learned before.

T: These are all common health problems that we are very familiar with. But what should we do when accidents happen?

Show the pictures in 1a as well as others about daily accidents one by one to learn the new words or phrases first and then ask the students to think about ways to deal with them.

E.g:

What should you do when you have a nosebleed?

(The students will certainly not be able to answer all the questions, lead them to 1b and 1c)

Look at the pictures, compete to say out the new words or phrases, and think about how to solve them. They can have a discussion with one’s classmates first and then share one’s answers.

Possible answer:

We should first put our head down; then press the side of the nose; and finally wash our face.
