    PPT 5-21, “Share the stry”:
    PPT5:
    In the 1990s, husehld waste
    pllutin was a serius prblem in cuntryside in China.
    Wu An, a small city in Hebei prvince, was n exceptin.
    Wastes were dumped in rivers,
    ditches, and even n the rad,
    sending ut hrrible smells.

    The ditches were quickly filled up with all kinds f garbages.
    Strng wind-blws wuld bring the plastic bags up dancing in the sky and the smelly dusts rushing int yur face.

    Later, simple garbage pls were built n the rad fr peple t put trash in.
    Yet quickly the garbage pls were filled up and the trash flwed ut nt the rad.
    Husehld waste has becme a tugh prblem.
    PPT8:
    Frm 2015 t 2019, a green campaign called “Trash int Dustbin” was launched t fight against garbage littering
    First, every husehld gt a free blue dustbin t put husehld trash in.

    When the dustbin is full, a hk car will hk it away and drive t the nearby gathering statin while an empty dustbin is placed instead n the site.

    After bi-safety dispsal, the nn-recyclable waste are buried at the fixed site.

    I find it difficult t keep eye cntact with my audience while I

    PPT 5-21 present the stry f “Wu An Husehld Waste Treatment”.
    With each ppt, students shall:
    (1) identify what is presented in the picture (s);
    (2) predicting the cntent accrding t the picture(s);
    (3) try their best t describe the picture(s) in their wn wrds;
    (4) identify the feelings arused by the picture(s)
    (5) be allwed t ask questins r speak ut their wn pinins;
    Questins and discussins are welcmed during the whle prcess f stry telling.
    Students may ask why it is called a hk car. The car is named after its functins.
    PPT22-28, “Self-Assessment”:
    Students shall examine these checkpints and see hw well they have dne in Unit One.
    Students shall answer questins in this part true t themselves.
    Students may have mre questins than the listed nes and they are encuraged t ask questins, whse answers may lie in discussins in class.
    In “Summary”,
    Students shall review what we have learnt tday, especially
    (1) sharing stry f envirnmental preservatin;
    (2) explaining the cnnectedness and balance f nature;
    (3) appreciating the meaning f images in a sng r a pem;
    (4) cmparing peple’s attitude twards nature;
    (5) gruping infrmatin and thinking critically
    “Share the stry” is designed as a prject fr students t grup infrmatin and rganize it int a well-written stry;
    In the prcess f stry telling and picture shwing, interactins between students, teacher and pictures are expected and welcmed, extending the teaching aims beynd what are presented n the PPTs.

    “Self-
    Assessment” is designed as a checklist fr bth teacher and students, which is again a review f what we have learnt in Unit One.
    Example questins in this part are designed t bring mre questins ut f students and teacher, wh may have real questins during the prcess f teaching and learning.
    Questins and discussin are welcmed here, during which critical thinking may happen and get imprved.
    Summary is designed fr the cnvenience f reviewing as well as fr students t d checklist.
