    2. Master the greeting sentences: Gd mrning. Hell/Hi!.
    3. Learn the meaning f sme abbreviatins.

    Be able t greet each ther using the target language.
    ●情感目标
    Try t develp students’ interests in English and educate students t be plite.

    1. Learn t read and write letters Aa--Hh.
    2. Be able t greet each ther using the sentences: Gd mrning/afternn/evening. Hell/Hi!
    ●难点
    Be able t greet each ther using the target language.
    【教学准备】
    A tape recrder, sme wrd cards, pictures and handuts.
    【教学方法】
    任务型教学法、情景交际法、自主学习与合作学习相结合
    【课时安排】
    One perid
    【教学过程】
    Step 1: Greetings
    The teacher wears a name card with an English name n it, then pints t the name card and makes a self-intrductin.
    T: Welcme t my class. I’m yur new teacher,... What’s yur name?
    Give students several minutes, and invite every student t stand up t d a self-intrductin fr the whle class.
    ...
    Step 2: Lead-in
    Listen t the ABC sng.
    T: This is ur first class. We’ll learn hw t greet each ther simply. Befre learning, let’s listen t a sng.
    Play the tape f the ABC sng first, and ask students t listen carefully. Pay attentin t the prnunciatin and intnatin.
    Then play it again, asking students t repeat after the sng.
    Later, sing the sng tgether.
    Step 3: Presentatin
    1. Teach activity 1a
    (1) Ask students t pen their textbks, lk at the picture carefully and find ut the answers t the fllwing questins:
    What can yu see in the picture?
    Hw many students are there in the picture?
    What are they ding?
    Prvide students with several minutes t think abut the questins.
    (2) Read the cnversatin. The students listen and repeat.
    T:As we knw, there are eight students in the picture.Wh are bys, and wh are girls? Write dwn their names n the lines.
    (3) Ask students t d this activity individually, and then check the answers.
    Answers:
    Bys’ names: Bb, Dale, Frank, Eric
    Girls’ names:Grace, Helen, Cindy, Alice
    2. Teach activity 1b
    (1) Play the recrding fr the first time, and ask the students t pay attentin t the prnunciatin and intnatin.
    (2) Play the recrding fr the secnd time. Ask the students t listen and repeat.
    (3)If students can’t listen t the cnversatin clearly, play it ne mre time.
    3. Teach activity 1c
    (1) Ask the students t practice the cnversatins in pairs. Mve arund the class when the students are practicing. Give them sme help if needed.
    (2) Rle-play the cnversatins in 1a in pairs.
    (3) Ask the students t practice greetings each ther. They can use their Chinese names if they wish. Encurage them t use their English names if they can. Ask them t practice using all the different greetings taught in 1a.
    (4)Ask several pairs t act ut their cnversatins fr the whle class.
    4. Teach activity 2a
    (1)Shw the 8 letters Aa--Hh n the screen, and teach students t read them ne by ne.
    (2)Play the tape, and ask students t pay attentin t the prnunciatin and repeat.
    (3)Invite sme students t read these letters, and crrect their prnunciatin mistake if there is any.
    5. Teach activity 2b
    T: Nw I’ll play the recrd. Yu’ll hear eight letters. Listen carefully and number the letters yu hear.
    (1)Play the tape, ask students t finish activity 2b individually.
    (2)Play the tape again, ask students t check their answers.
    (3)Check the answers with the whle class.
    6.Teach activity 2c
    (1)Teach students hw t write these big and small letters.
    (2)Ask students t cpy the letters in their exercise bks.
    Step 4: Practice
    1. Teach activities 2d
    (1) Ask students t read the letters in 2d and make sure they can read all the letters crrectly.
    (2) Ask students t write letters Aa--Hh after the mdels. At the same time, ask ne by and ne girl t write n the blackbard. While students are wrking, mve arund the rm, checking prgress and ffering help if they needed.
    (3) Check the answers. Crrect mistakes if any.
    2. Teach activity 2e
    (1) Shw the pictures in 2e n the blackbard.
    (2) Ask students t read alud the letters.
    (3) Chse a picture, and ask the students t say the abbreviatins.
    T:What can yu see in the picture?(picture ne)
    S1:I can see a pencil
    T:Very gd. D yu knw the meaning f the letters belw the picture? What des HB mean? Wh knws?
    S2:It means hard black.
    T:Excellent.
    ...
    (4) Encurage the students t say mre abbreviatins and explain their meanings.
    Step 5: Cnslidatin
    1. Put students in pairs, and ask them t greet each ther like this:
    S1: Hi!
    S2:Hell!
    S1:Gd mrning, S2.
    S2:Gd mrning, S1.
    As students wrk, mve arund the classrm and ffer help if needed.
    Finally, ask sme pairs t act ut the cnversatins.
    2. Shw the cards f the eight letters in disrder, and ask students t read the letters ne by ne crrectly.
    Then, get students t wrk in pairs. One takes pictures, the ther reads the letters. D it in turns.
    【课堂小结】
    In this perid, we’ve learned hw t greet when we meet in the mrning. And we’ve als learned hw t read and write letters Aa--Hh, as well as sme abbreviatins.
    【课后作业】
    1. Listen and recite letters Aa--Hh.
    2. Recite the cnversatins in 1a.
    3. Cpy these eight big and small letters five times.
