教材分析
该板块的活动主题为“评估你的进步和完成项目活动”。第一个活动主要是对本单元的回顾与总结。检测学生对单元重点词汇,以及语法知识的掌握情况,结合一些问题,让学生回顾和总结本单元所学内容。学生从自身理解出发,反思和回顾单元所学,思考肢体语言的重要性。本单元的项目活动主题是“制作肢体语言信息单”(Make a body language information sheet),让学生综合整理和分析肢体语言,提醒学生在日常交际,尤其是跨文化交际中,正确理解和运用肢体语言,以达到良好的交际效果。
教学目标
1. 掌握本单元重点词汇。
2. 回顾本单元语法知识点。
3. 总结单元所学内容,能运用所学知识完成活动项目。
教学重难点
【教学重点】
引导学生回顾单元知识,学会用所学知识表达自己的看法。并能通过小组分工合作,完成项目活动。
【教学难点】
引导学生在理解中外肢体语言的差异与融通,形成跨文化交际意识,正确使用非语言形式进行得体的交流。
教学过程
Step 1 Review
Review the key words and phrases.
设计意图:回顾单元重点词汇和词组,夯实基础知识。
Step 2 Practice
1. Work on Activity 1. How important is body language? Complete the passage with the correct forms of the words in the box to find out.
2. Think of the questions based on the passage.
(1) What type of writing is this passage?
(2) How is the passage developed?
(3) Why does body language sometimes speak louder than words?
3. Work on Activity 2. Decide whether each verb in its -ing form functions as a subject (S), object (O), predicative (P), or attribute (A).
设计意图:通过活动1,让学生再次明确肢体语言的重要性。并在具体语境中巩固词汇知识;
通过活动2,让学生进一步巩固本单元语法知识。
Step 3 Reflecting
Work on Activity 3. Answer the questions based on what you have learned in this unit.
(1) Which body language in this unit do you use most often? Does it have the same meaning as in the text?
(2) What do you think you could do to communicate better with other people?
(3) Do you think you will be able to tell more from reading others’ body language from now on?
(4) What problems did you or your friends have in studying this unit? How did you solve them? What advice did you give each other?
(5) Overall, I thought this unit was interesting useful so-so difficult.
设计意图:引导学生回顾本单元内容,能够运用所学知识表达看法。
Step 4 Project
Project: Make a body language information sheet.
1. In groups, brainstorm a list of different kinds of body language. Use the information from this unit, your own experience and knowledge, and/or the website excerpt below.
2. Based on your list, research online to discover what the same kinds of body language mean in different cultures.
3. Each group should come up with its own body language information sheet like the example below. Drawings and/or photos can be added to show what the different forms of body language look like.
4. Present your information sheet to the class, and then vote on the best one.
设计意图:引导学生运用本单元所学知识,并参照范例进行整合,小组合作完成肢体语言信息单。
Step 5 Assignment
Group work: Create your sitcom by using body language instead of speaking and present it next class.
设计意图:综合运用本单元所学知识,结合本单元话题,呈现作业。
