Have you ever thought about how to spend your pocket money wisely? Here is some advice.
Make a list. We all have a lot of things that we want. But do you really need them? That's why it is necessary to make a list before you spend money. Start with the thing you want most. You can also write down how much it costs or how important it is in your life. By doing this, you will see if it is really necessary to buy it.
Help others. We all know that there are many people in the world who are in need of our help. Helping others brings out the best in us and is one of the greatest joys in our lives. So ponder using your pocket money to do something useful and helpful, and feel that you can make a difference.
Save as much as you can. There is an old saying, “Money doesn't grow on trees.” If you spend all your pocket money right away, you'll have no money until your next “pay day”. A wallet might not be the best place to save money, as it can make it easier for you to spend. Get a piggy bank or ask your parents to start a savings account for you.
Someday when you look back, you'll get a strong feeling of achievement by saving so much money by yourself!
9.( )Why should we make a list before spending money?
A.To make sure we buy everything we need.
B.To help us buy things that we want most.

D.To know if we have enough money for the things.

While some young people may know little about the value of money, many have learned it through different kinds of financial (金融的) education.
In modern society, more and more people use mobile phones to pay for things instead of cash. Without an exact understanding of money, many young people may not fully understand that mobile payment also uses real money. For example, an 11yearold boy in the UK spent more than €2,000 on an online game, without thinking about the real financial influence of his mobile payment. So young people who have grown up in cashless societies may have __▲__ understanding of the value of money.
However, understanding financial knowledge is not a talent, and everyone can have this ability through learning. With the help of parents, children can develop a habit of saving and learn to manage their own money. Some parents do so through piggy banks and savings accounts. Other parents may use electronic red envelopes to encourage their children to use apps to save money and record their own spending.
Also, young people can further develop their understanding of the value of money through schools and governments. Schools can play an important role in teaching financial skills to students. In Denmark, students in grades seven to nine must take financial education. Governments can also give help to the young through programs and activities. For example, Singapore's national financial education programme, MoneySense, developed a new activity to offer people financial knowledge through educational programs on television.
In a word, with the efforts of parents, schools and governments, young people can better understand the value of money.
13.( )What is young people's problem about money today?
A.They refuse to use cash.
B.They never save money or record their spending.
C.They don't have an exact understanding of money.
D.They can't see cash in our daily life.
14.( ) Which of the following can be put in __▲__?
A.full B.limited C.simple D.easy
15.( ) How does the writer develop his idea in Paragraph 4?
A.By giving examples. B.By comparing facts.
C.By making suggestions. D.By asking questions.
16.( )What is the writer's main purpose of writing the passage?
A.To introduce some useful financial skills.
B.To show the popularity of mobile payment.
C.To tell the importance of financial education.
D.To sell some classes on financial education.

At an early age, we start learning how to manage money by watching our parents' spending habits. Don't worry if we haven't learned how to save or spend money well. The following life lessons about money can help us form good spending habits.
Money doesn't grow on trees. As kids, we don't often think about where money comes from. We need to know that our parents work hard to make money. Going to their workplaces to watch how they work is a great way to understand money is not that easy to make.
We shouldn't spend all our money in one go. It's important for us to have a budget. In other words, we need to think about how much money we have and what we really want to spend it on. Realising that our pocket money can't cover everything we want, we should make smart spending choices.
We should set a clear goal and watch our money grow. If we wish to own a new bicycle but can't afford it, we can save our pocket money. How? Write down how much money we have in a notebook and watch it grow. After we have enough, we can buy that wonderful bicycle we've dreamed about! Reaching our goal will greatly satisfy us.
We can talk with our parents about how money is used and where money goes. Do you know what a bank account is? If not, communicate with your parents. We can also go to the supermarket with our parents to experience how money is spent in the real world.
Without doubt, we should treat money in the right way. Actually, learning about money isn't a hard job. From these lessons, we can get a sense of money management and deal with money wisely step by step!
