      1.Students are able t understand sme unfamiliar wrds and cncepts abut specific places,cultural custms,r histrical backgrunds in Mscw by referring t materials and ther means.
      2. Students are able t express their views and ideas clearly and accurately in English.

      Step 1 Pre-reading(1a)
      1.Shw a shrt vide t intrduce Mscw and ask students sme questins.
      T:Have yu ever heard f Mscw,the capital city f Russia? What cmes t yur mind when yu think f it?
      2.Ask students t intrduce ther famus places in Mscw.(Befre the class,ask students t use AI t cllect infrmatin f Russia like places f interest,fd,etc.)
      Wrk n 1a
      Ask students t share the infrmatin they cllected in advance abut Red Square and Alexander Garden,and then shw them phts f these places t supplement the intrductin.

      Step 2 While-Reading(1b~1c)

      1.Ask students t read Vincent's diary entries and answer questins.
      T:Well,ur friend Vincent just came back frm a hliday in Mscw,and he has s many amazing stries t tell. Let's read his diary entries and answer the tw questins in 1b.
      2.Check the answers in class and ask students hw t find the answers frm the passage.
      Wrk n 1c
      1.Ask students t read the diary entries again and cmplete the timeline.
      T:What did Vincent d at these times? Let's read the diary again and find them ut.
      2.Ask students t share the answers and the teacher helps t crrect their mistakes if necessary.
      (Students must share cmplete sentences. The teacher shws the key sentence patterns n the PPT.)

      Step 3 After-reading(1d)
      1.Ask the grup leaders t draw lts t select the diary they want t retell (three grups will retell the first diary,and the ther three grups will retell the secnd).Grup members try t retell the paragraphs within the grup accrding t the mind maps.(Three members d the retelling,tw members crrect the mistakes,and tw members supplement the missing infrmatin.)
      2.Ask ne r tw grups t share and retell.

      1.Ask students t write dwn their ideas abut Vincent's travel experience t Mscw.
      T:Mscw is such a great place. What can yu learn frm Vincent's trip? Nw,discuss yur ideas in grups and then write them dwn.
      2.Ask students t share in class and the teacher helps t make a summary.
      3.The teacher plays a vide t shw the meaning f travelling.
