Step 1 Lead-in(A guessing game)
1.Shw paintings depicting activities related t summer hliday frm different cultures. Fr example,a Chinese ink painting f summer harvest festivals and an American waterclur f a family summer camping trip. Ask students t describe the activities in the paintings and guess their cultural backgrunds.
T:Tday,we'll start ur hliday explratin thrugh art! Here are paintings abut summer-time hliday activities frm different places.Let's try t figure ut their stries and cultural hints. First,lk at this Chinese ink painting. What summer-related activities can yu spt? Discuss with yur partner fr 1 minute. Then,we'll check the American waterclur t.
2.After the discussin,ask students t share what they saw in the paintings,like “I see peple having a picnic by the river in the Chinese painting” r “The American painting shws a family rasting marshmallws while camping”.Then,have them guess which culture each painting represents and why,linking it t pssible summer hliday traditins.
S1:I can see peple wearing traditinal clthes carrying baskets f fruits. There's a big tree by the river,and sme kids are flying a kite. Maybe it's a summer harvest festival in China!
S2:The painting shws a family sitting arund a fire with a tent behind them. They're hlding sticks with marshmallws,and the dad is smiling. I think it's an American family camping in summer,because my cusin in New Yrk des this every July!

Students take turns drawing a slip,thinking fr 1 minute,then answering in detail. Each grup must cnsecutively answer 3 questins;the team fails the rund if any member gets stuck.
