Accrding t the passage, " "The passage states that ..."
What can we learn frm Paragraph X?" "The authr mentins ... t shw that ..."
Why " "... because ________." "The reasn fr ... is that ..."
① This article is particularly written fr
② When the writer says … he really means
③ Accrding t the text/Paragraph X,
④ The passage states that...
⑤ Which f the fllwing statements is supprted by the text?
⑥ What caused/led
⑦ Why des the authr give the example f…?
⑧Hw many…? / What is the percentage f…?
注意特殊数量表达:decade(十年)、frtnight(两周)、duble、cuple、scre(二十)、dzen(十二)、ff/discunt(折扣)等。

A. Sharing walks with friends. B. Starting with small gals.
C. Fcusing n step cunts. D. Setting MUST-DO daily tasks.
【答案】A
文章在“Practical Advice”中第一条明确写道:“Make it scial: Walk with friends/family t stay mtivated and enjy quality time”,这直接对应使步行更愉快的方法。

Talkspace

根据第一段中“At nine years ld, I didn’t realize hw extrardinary it was fr me and my grandmther t travel frm ur Black neighbrhd t the mainly white Revere Beach. While Black families stayed tgether in ne sectin, rarely venturing ut alne, my grandmther std ut — cnfident and athletic while swimming, unlike the ther wmen wrried abut their hair r suits.
根据第四段中“I nce wndered why enslaved Africans didn’t jump frm ships near shre and swim t freedm.
根据最后一段中“Thugh she hadn’t mastered it herself, my grandmther was determined t teach me t swim — nt fr the strkes, but fr the strength and self-belief that wuld keep me aflat in life.

Fr decades, Bdy Mass Index (BMI) dminated weight assessments. This simple height-weight calculatin srts peple frm underweight t verweight. Yet Dr. Melanie Jay frm NYU pints ut its prblems: BMI gives the same ranges fr 20-year-ld athletes and 70-year-ld grandparents. It ignres muscle mass, bne density, and health cnditins, smetimes regarding fit individuals as verweight. Recent studies shw that nearly 30% f peple classified as verweight by BMI actually have healthy bdy fat percentages and nrmal metablic prfiles.
1. Why des the authr mentin 20-year-ld athletes and 70-year-ld grandparents?
A. T shw BMI’s limitatins.B. T prve BMI’s ppularity.
C. T describe BMI’s main users.D. T intrduce BMI’s target grup.
【答案】A
在提出“BMI gives the same ranges fr...”之前,本段先总述“BMI dminated...”,然后通过“Yet Dr. Melanie Jay... pints ut its prblems”进行转折。

The prize presents a mral challenge and it frces us t recnsider ur relatinships with ther species.
1. Why is Turing test mentined in the passage?
A. T stress its rle and value in AI prgress.B. T shw its difference frm the Challenge.
C. T warn f cncerns the Challenge may face.D. T shw its use in interspecies cmmunicatin.
原文明确提到图灵测试“became a fcus fr cncerns abut machines tricking, even taking ver, humans”(成为了对机器欺骗甚至接管人类的担忧焦点),并紧接着指出“The ability t cmmune with ther species is likely t raise similar, unsettling questins”(与其他物种交流的能力可能引发类似的、令人不安的问题)。

1. Hw much will an 8-weeks extern earn at mst upn full cmpletin?
A.$200.B.$220, C.$510. D.$480.
其次,注意表格下方的注释:“Thse wh finish all required tasks... will be qualified fr an additinal reward.”(完成所有必需任务……

Lead researcher Dr.Meldy Ding clarifies that the 10,000-step target traces back t a 1960s Japanese pedmeter (计步器) marketing strategy rather than medical evidence.
1. Hw many steps per day can significantly lwer disease risks accrding t the study?
A.2,000 steps. B.4,000 steps. C.7,000 steps. D.10,000 steps.
【答案】C
【分析】此题为数字计算题,文章开篇明确指出“walking 7,000 steps daily can significantly enhance brain functin and lwer the risk f majr diseases”,并在“Key Findings”部分详细列出了与2,000步相比,7,000步带来的各项疾病风险降低数据。

Fr decades, scial scientists have debated the link between incme and happiness. A 2025 crss-cuntry study published in the Jurnal f Psitive Psychlgy — invlving 120,000 participants frm 45 cuntries acrss Nrth America, Eurpe, and Asia — ffers new insights int this cmplex relatinship, challenging sme lng-held assumptins.
The research team, led by Dr. Elena Marquez frm the University f Zurich, first analyzed the cnnectin between “abslute incme” (ttal annual earnings) and self-reprted happiness scres (measured n a 10-pint scale). They fund that fr individuals with annual incmes belw 75,000, there was a strng psitive crrelatin: each 10,000 increase in incme was assciated with a 0.8-pint rise in happiness. Hwever, abve 75,000, the crrelatin weakened dramatically — an additinal 10,000 nly led t a 0.1-pint increase. Dr. Marquez labeled this $75,000 figure the “happiness threshld”: beynd this pint, mre mney did nt significantly bst happiness.
What surprised researchers even mre was the impact f “relative incme” (incme cmpared t peers in the same scial grup, such as clleagues r neighbrs). Fr participants earning abve the 75,000 threshld, relative incme became a key factr. Thse wh earned 20% mre than their peers reprted happiness scres 1.2 pints higher than thse wh earned 20% less — even if bth grups had annual incmes abve 100,000. “It’s nt just hw much yu have,” Dr. Marquez explained, “but hw much yu have cmpared t peple arund yu. This ‘scial cmparisn effect’ ften verriding the influence f abslute incme nce basic needs are met.”
The study als highlighted reginal differences. In high-cst-f-living regins like New Yrk r Tky, the happiness threshld was slightly higher — arund 95,000 — due t increased expenses fr husing and daily necessities. In cntrast, in areas with lwer living csts, such as parts f rural India r Vietnam, the threshld drpped t 50,000. Ntably, the scial cmparisn effect was mre prnunced in individualistic cultures (e.g., the U.S., Germany) than in cllectivist cultures (e.g., Japan, Thailand), where cmmunity well-being is ften priritized ver persnal incme status.
Critics f the study pint ut its limitatins: it relied n self-reprted happiness scres, which may be influenced by temprary md swings, and it did nt accunt fr nn-financial factrs like health, family relatinships, r wrk-life balance — all f which affect happiness. Dr. Marquez acknwledged these gaps but emphasized the study’s value: “Our findings help clarify when mney matters fr happiness and when it desn’t. Fr plicymakers, this means fcusing n reducing pverty (t lift peple abve the threshld) rather than just bsting verall ecnmic grwth. Fr individuals, it’s a reminder that chasing mre mney beynd a certain pint may nt lead t greater fulfillment.”
1. What can we learn abut the “happiness threshld” frm the study?
A.It is a fixed figure f $75,000 applicable t all regins.
B.Belw this threshld, mre mney has little impact n happiness.
C.Abve this threshld, relative incme matters mre than abslute incme.
D.It is determined slely by an individual’s annual abslute incme.
2. Why did participants earning 120,000 reprt lwer happiness than thse earning 100,000 in the same scial grup?
A.Their abslute incme was still belw the happiness threshld.
B.They earned 20% less than their peers in the same grup.
C.The 20,000 increase pushed them beynd the happiness threshld.
D.They lived in high-cst regins where the threshld was 95,000.
3. Which f the fllwing is a limitatin f the 2025 study?
A.It ignred the influence f relative incme n happiness.
B.It nly included participants frm individualistic cultures.
C.It failed t cnsider nn-financial factrs affecting happiness.
D.It used an inaccurate 10-pint scale t measure happiness.
4. What des Dr. Marquez suggest plicymakers d based n the study’s findings?
A.Fcus n increasing the verall ecnmic grwth rate.
B.Set a unified happiness threshld fr all regins.
C.Priritize reducing pverty t help peple exceed the threshld.
D.Encurage peple t cmpare their incme with peers less frequently.

根据最后一段“Fr plicymakers, this means fcusing n reducing pverty (t lift peple abve the threshld) rather than just bsting verall ecnmic grwth.

Yu might want t think twice abut that bttled water — because it lks like almst any cntact fd and drinks have with plastic packaging can cause micrplastics and nanplastics (纳米塑料) t be released, which end up in ur bdies. That’s accrding t a new study by researchers in Switzerland.
Micrplastics are small pieces f plastic that are less than five millimeters in diameter (直径). Nanplastics are even smaller — they’re less than 0.000001 millimeters acrss. The researchers suggested that simply unwrapping plastic- cvered fd r tearing pen a plastic fd package can cause these tiny particles (颗粒) t be released. The same is true f making a tea bag in ht water r pening drink bttles that have plastic tps.

T get their findings, researchers lked at 103 different studies n micrplastics. While these varied in quality and reliability, the researchers said seven were fund t be “highly reliable”. And the researchers cncluded that micrplastics and nanplastics enter fd and drinks frm a large variety f surces — althugh further high- quality research is needed. It’s still nt clear exactly hw harmful micrplastics and nanplastics are t ur bdies. But studies n animal and human cells have suggested that they culd be linked t an increased risk f cancer and heart prblems, as well as ther issues.
Experts frm Stanfrd University in the US have said that micrplastics are “impssible” t avid because they are “in the water we drink, the fd we eat, the clthes we wear, and the air we breathe”.
