But many people think that children should do chores. In fact, children can get a sense of happiness when they do chores. Parents should help children learn to do housework that they will have to do when they live on their own. Most experts agree that children can learn a lot from doing chores. Or you can take a picture with a phone. Think about if you want to take notes by hand or with a computer. Taking notes by hand helps you remember things better. Yu Gong told his family that they should all help him to move the mountains. And he said they could put the earth and stone into the sea because it’s big enough to hold everything. So they all started digging the next day. Yu Gong and his family began to move some of the earth and stone to the sea.One day, a man saw Yu Gong and his children when they were working on moving the mountains. He told Yu Gong that he could never do it because he was old and weak. As soon as the man finished talking, Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died. His family would live and grow, but the mountains could not get bigger. So Yu Gong and his family kept on digging day after day and year after year. (6)Have you ever seen a koala somewhere? Koalas, which are often called koala “bears”, are tree-climbing animals and are seen as national symbols of Australia. However, recently the Australian government has announced (宣布) that koalas are endangered animals across much of the country. As a matter of fact, the country lost 30% of its koala population between 2018 and 2021, especially in New South Wales, according to a report from the Australian Koala Foundation. If nothing was done, New South Wales’ koalas would die out by 2050, research in June 2020 said. “This must be a wake-up call to Australia and the government to move much faster to protect the cute animals,” Josey Sharrad, a manager with the International Fund for Animal Welfare, said seriously.Koalas are dying out all over the country because of the climate change and the fast development of cities. People have seen some places that look like the moon — with dead and dying trees everywhere. After WWF-Australia and the International Fund for Animal Welfare called on the government to announce koalas as endangered in April, the government promised they would get more public support and protect koalas’ home — they live in the forests and woodlands. The Australian government is now doing its best to collect money to protect koalas. On the one hand, it has spent $13 million in helping improve their living places. On the other hand, the government plans to spend another $36 million doing better health research and medical support to further help koala programs over the next four years.“We should never have allowed things to get to the point where we are at risk of losing a national symbol,” Environment Minister Susan Ley said.1.What has the Australian government announced recently? 2.When would New South Wales’ koalas die out if nothing was done? 3.Why are koalas dying out all over the country? 4.Where do koalas live in Australia? 5.What may happen to koalas over the next four years? Why do you think so? (7)I like music because I think there is nothing more relaxing than listening to or playing music. One day, I went to my parents’ house to visit them. While my mother was cooking some food in the kitchen, my father and I were waiting. Later I went into my parents’ room with him and he took out his guitar and started playing a slow song. Then I took out a violin and started playing along with him. Slowly, I became lost in the music. My father and I played like that for about 15 minutes. And when I turned around, my mother was standing there listening. I didn’t even realize she was there while I was playing. That was one of the few times that I was “truly” lost in the music. The funniest thing when I played with my father was that I wasn’t good at the violin. I was new at the instrument, but it was a slow song and my ability didn’t matter. That is what music is all about. Now many people are too focused on being good at their instrument, or making lots of money with it, but not focused on the music. Although my job is to play the piano, I never really want to use it to make money. I play because it brings me great happiness, and I love everything about it.1.How does the writer feel while listening to music? 2.What was the writer’s mother doing when they finished playing the music? 3.Does the writer well in playing the piano? 4.Translate the underlined sentence into Chinese. 5.What does the writer most probably do?
