With ur several gentle pushes the big hump turned ver and disappeared under water. Then it swam up right beside its mum. Slwly, they let us lead them, smetimes rising frm the water right beside us t breathe—and t give us a trusting (信任的) lk with thse huge eyes. Once they hit their first part f clean water flwing straight frm the sea, the mum gave us a wave with her tail and ff they swam int the distance.
In the excitement it had felt like nly a few minutes, but we had been with thse wnderful animals fr almst an hur and a half. That was the simple and lasting beauty f the day. Nearly fur decades later, I still lk back fndly t that glden day at sea.
