Writer Walter Benjamin argued that what makes certain wrks f art great is that they cntain a mysterius “aura(气息)”. This mystery is part f what makes the wrks wnderful. Hwever, since the late 1990s, with the spread f high-quality digital phtgraphy, there have been many discveries abut famus paintings.
Hiernymus Bsch has been at the centre f art-histrical cntrversy(争论)this year. After an exhibitin at the Nrdbrabants Museum in the artist’s hmetwn, a new exhibitin at the Prad in Madrid is n the way. The Nrdbrabants displayed 17 existing Bsch paintings, while the Prad nw exhibits 24. The difference is the result f digital discveries, first accepted at the Nrdbrabants shw.
Artists did nt regularly sign their wrks until the 19th century, and attributin(归属)based n a wrk’s style leaves rm fr errr. Since artists always wrked in studis r wrkshps, students wuld develp a style very similar t that f their master. Then again, later artists learned by cpying past masters, smetimes s well that it’s hard t tell the difference. Hwever, attributin can change, especially when new technlgy cmes t light.
In the case f the Bsch discveries, sme researchers fund evidence that led them t dwngrade(降级)the attributin f certain wrks. Extracting the Stne f Madness, which was riginally ging t be lent by the Prad t the Nrdbrabants, is listed as “by Bsch”, and cnsidered t have been painted between 1501 and 1505. But the researchers infrmed the Prad that they wuld be listing the painting as “by the wrkshp r a fllwer f Bsch”, and dating it 1500-1520 (Bsch died in 1516). The museum’s directr Miguel Falmir said, “It is unacceptable t request a painting as a Bsch and then shw it as smething different.”
One f the beautiful things abut art histry is that it can never be an exact science. Digital art-histrical discveries have led t cntrversy rather than reslutins(问题解决). The evidence is there, but it’s up t us hw we explain it.
9.Why are sme artwrks great accrding t Walter Benjamin?
A.They didn’t survive in histry.B.Their styles are kind f mystery.
C.They leave rm fr imaginatin.D.Their creatrs were nt well-knwn.
10.What can we learn abut the Nrdbrabants Museum?
A.It wns the paintings by Bsch.
B.It was cnvinced by the researchers.
C.It brke the agreement with the Prad.
D.It brrwed all Bsch paintings frm the Prad.
11.Hw wuld previus art histrians recgnize the attributin f a painting?
A.Find ut the signature hidden in the picture.
B.Cnsult the museum that has been displaying it.
C.Interview the fllwers f the master wh did it.
D.Analyze its style and the year when it was created.
12.What wuld be the best title fr the text?
A.Digital discveries explain art in a better way.
B.Museums have a fierce debate n Bsch paintings.
    C.Hiernymus Bsch paintings becme cntrversial.
D.Digital discveries destry the beauty f art histry.

12.主旨大意题。通读全文并根据关键句“One f the beautiful things abut art histry is that it can never be an exact science. Digital art-histrical discveries have led t cntrversy rather than reslutins(问题解决). The evidence is there, but it’s up t us hw we explain it.”(艺术历史的魅力之一在于它永远无法成为一门精密的科学。数字化艺术历史的发现引发了争执而没有解决问题。证据就在那里,关键在于我们如何解释。)可知,本文最佳标题是数字化发现以一种更好的方式解释艺术。故选A。
