活动一:感知与注意
Brainstrm
(1)Suppse a grup f exchange students are cming frm Australia t study in yur schl fr a year. Wrk in grups and help yur headmaster t design a bklet abut yur schl.
(2)Brainstrm what the visiting students might need t knw abut yur schl.
(3) Discuss these infrmatin in grups.

Step Ⅱ 应用实践
活动二:Make a schl bklet
1.Divide up the wrk amng yur grup members s that ne r tw students are respnsible fr each tpic. Make a page fr each tpic and include phts r pictures. If pssible include a map f yur schl t shw hw t get arund.
2.Decide n a gd rder fr the infrmatin and then put the pages tgether.
3.Imprve the design f the bklet if necessary.
4.Make an attractive cver page fr yur bklet by including a few descriptive sentences and a gd picture r tw.
【设计意图】通过小组内分配任务,网上搜集有关信息和图片、根据要求不断改进和完善,最后完成关于学校介绍的小册子。通过这个活动,不仅可以培养信息获取,归纳整合的能力,还可以加深对自己学校的了解。

Lcatin f Schl
Dnghua High is a unique experimental high schl established in Beijing, China in 1921.
Histry f Schl
It was started in 1921 as an all-girls schl fr rphaned children. The schl helped prduce many well knwn peple in science and arts. It is nw pen t all students f all abilities.
Schl Mtt
The schl mtt is “Where the grass is indeed greener!” and this cmes frm the phrase “The grass is always greener n the ther side”. While this phrase refers t the idea that we always think what we dn’t have is better than what we d have, we instead use it in a psitive light t highlight the things we d have and hw gd they are. Therefre, ur grass is indeed greener!
Schl Rules
The nly rule in this schl is that there are n rules! This des nt mean that students can behave in ways that are wrng r unruly. Rather, students are expected t take respnsibility fr their wn educatin and lives. All decisins at the schl are made demcratically, with students and teachers having an equal vte. Teachers are seen mre f as aides t hell students educate themselves.
Special Events
We hst several events thrughut the year. Our mst ppular event is the whle schl art cmpetitin where we ask all ur students t submit ne piece f artwrk using any medium they like. Winners are chsen by the students and we usually have sme fantastic prizes t give away. We als have a Schl Vlunteer Day, where we encurage students, under adult supervisin, t g ut int the lcal cmmunity and help ut. This is ur way f giving back t the cmmunity.
Cmpulsry and Elective Curses
There are n frmal classes at ur schl. Instead, students d what they like, and study when and what they like. We believe this helps students t develp the ability t take cntrl f their lives at an early age and learn t be independent and self-reliant. They have ptins t study science, cmputers and all kinds f liberal arts such as cntemprary dance and traditinal ink painting styles, such as shan shui.
Clubs
Our schl has many clubs available t students, and we encurage extracurricular activities. We have art clubs, sprts clubs and even an pen-air cinema club. Yu will n dubt find what yu are lking fr in ur club selectin
Other
Cme t visit us and see the experiment! See the dream in actin! Yu will be impressed!
【设计意图】通过分配任务、查找资料,小组讨论,完成学校宣传册并制作PPT,再组织语言,向全班展示,推选优秀的学校宣传册,这本身就是语言学习和创造的过程。通过这个活动,不仅可以引发学生的思考和对本单元话题的兴趣,而且激发学生用英语表达的愿望和增强信心,促进他们更好的学习。
