由关系代词引导的限制性定语从句

一、关系代词的一般用法
1.在定语从句中,关系代词主要有:wh, whm, which, whse, that。
2.用that, which指代表示事物的先行词;用that, wh, whm 指代表示人的先行词。关系代词在定语从句中作主语、表语、宾语和定语。This is the stry that/which we wrte fr ur strytelling cmpetitin. 这是我们为我们的故事竞赛写的故事。All my classmates enjyed the cake that/which I made. 我所有的同学都喜欢我做的蛋糕。I am ging t see a friend wh has just cme back frm the UK. 我要去看一位刚从英国回来的朋友。
3.在从句中作定语,表示前后词之间有所属关系,无论先行词是人还是物,关系词都用whse。“whse+n. ”引导定语从句时,可换成“the+n. +f which/whm”或“f which/whm+the+n. ”。I want t buy a huse whse windws face suth.=I want t buy a huse the windws f which face suth. 我想买座窗户朝南的房子。
4.在从句中作宾语的关系代词可以省略。The bk (that/which) I brrwed frm the library is very interesting. 我从图书馆借的那本书很有趣。
二、关系代词的特殊用法
(一)宜用that的情况
1.当先行词是物时,若其本身是不定代词all, anything, everything, nthing, smething等或被all, every, any, n, the very, the nly等修饰,关系代词宜用that。I'll tell yu smething that I have heard. 我将告诉你一些我听到的事情。
2.当先行词被序数词或形容词最高级或这两者修饰时,关系代词宜用that。Munt Tai is the first muntain that I have climbed in China. 泰山是我在中国爬的第一座山。
3.当先行词既有人又有物时,关系代词宜用that。He talked abut the teachers and schls that he had visited. 他谈到了他曾拜访过的老师和学校。
4.关系代词在定语从句中作表语时,无论此先行词指人还是指物,关系代词宜用that。He is nt the yung man that he was thirty years ag. 他已经不是三十年前的那个年轻人了。
(二)宜用wh的情况当先行词是anyne, 指人的代词thse, ne, nes以及he等时,关系代词宜用wh。Gd helps thse wh help themselves. 天道酬勤。He wh des nt reach the Great Wall is nt a true man. 不到长城非好汉。
(三)宜用which的情况
1.当先行词本身是that时,关系代词宜用which。What's that which flashed in the sky just nw? 刚才在天空中闪光的是什么?
2.在非限制性定语从句中先行词指物或修饰整个句子时,只能用which引导。He passed the exam, which made his parents happy. 他通过了考试,这使他父母很高兴。
3.在“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句中,先行词指物时,关系代词只能用which。This is the place in which Lu Xun was brn. 这就是鲁迅出生的地方。
三、way作先行词时关系词的用法
当先行词是way时:若关系词在定语从句中作状语,则用that/in which 或省略;若关系词在定语从句中作宾语,则用that/which 或省略;若关系词在定语从句中作主语,则用that/which,但不可省略。Can yu tell me the way (in which/that) yu slved the prblem?你能告诉我你解决这个问题的方法吗?
四、定语从句的主谓一致
1.因为关系词指代的是先行词,当关系词在从句中作主语时,从句的谓语动词的数应该和先行词保持一致。Anyne wh wants t g fr a picnic must get t the gate by 6:10. 任何想去野餐的人都必须在6点10分之前到达门口。
2.当从句前为“ne f the+n. (pl. )”,并且关系词在定语从句里充当主语时,定语从句修饰的是这个复数名词,因此定语从句里的谓语动词用复数形式。He is als ne f the students wh g t the park. 他也是去公园的学生之一。
3.当从句前为“the nly ne f the+n. (pl. )”,并且关系词在定语从句里充当主语时,定语从句修饰的是the nly ne, 定语从句里的谓语动词用单数形式。He is the nly ne f the students wh ges t the park. 他是所有学生中唯一去公园的。
