    一、教学目标

    1. 能够掌握新词汇:

    Vocabulary: tonight, read out, winner, compared with, even though, rush, blouse, skirt, present

    2. 能够掌握重点句型:

    (1) The person who won the prize for the subject Nature is fifteen-year-old Li Wei.

    (2) The photo which we liked best in the City and People group was taken by Zhao Min.

    (3) It’s a beautiful girl who is wearing a blouse and skirt, and who is protecting her books against the showers.

    (4) He Zhong manages to show how this great new band moves and sounds, and the good time which their fans are having

    (5) A group of photos which show Beijing and Cambridge in England has won the prize for the subject Home and Away.

    3. 能够使用推断做笔记等阅读技巧进行阅读

    4. 能够读懂有关摄影比赛的文章。

    Step Ⅰ Warm-up

    Let’s review

    T asks two questions and help Ss to answer and review the text in Unit 1.

    What competition is Tony going to enter?

    What subject does Tony choose?

    设计意图:复习上节课内容并导入本节课的主题。

    Step Ⅱ Pre-reading

    Read and learn.

    T shows some pictures of new words and helps Ss learn to read.

     

    设计意图:通过图片学习单词,形象生动,方便理解记忆,并为下面的内容做准备

    Activity 1

    1. T shows Ss a picture and asks Ss to think over the following questions:

     What can you see in the picture?

    Can you describe it?

    2. There are four subjects about the photo competition: City and People, Music, Home and Away, and Nature. Which subject does this photo belong to?

    3. T chooses several Ss to present their ideas in class.

    Step ⅡI While-reading

    Activity 2 and 3

    1. T asks Ss to read Activity 2 and answer the questions.

    (1) What are the subjects of the photo competition?

    (2) Who is the winner of the photo competition on the subject of Nature?

    (3) Did Tony win the prize? What is it?

    2. T asks Ss to look through the table in Activity 3.

    3. T asks Ss to read the passage in Activity 2 silently and complete the table in Activity 3.

    4. T shows the answers.

    Step IV Post-reading

    Cultural Background

    T introduces the knowledge of photography awards.

    设计意图:通过展示摄影界三个最高奖项方面的知识,帮助学生了解相关文化背景知识、拓展知识面。

    Activity 4

    1. T asks Ss to complete the passage in Activity 4.

    2. T gives the answers.

    设计意图:让学生先读问题再读课文,可以帮助学生在阅读课文前推断文章的内容和结构,在阅读时多思考,练习做标记的阅读方法。

    3. T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen to and read this passage loudly.

    Language points

    1. Tonight I am more than happy to read out the winners of the photo competition.

    (1) more than happy 意思是“非常乐意”,常用于强调所说的话。

    (2) read out是动词词组,意思是“朗读,宣读”。

    2. Compared with other years, we received many more photos.

    compared with在句中作状语,意思是……相比

    3. Even though all of all of the photos are excellent, we are sorry to say that we cannot give prizes

    to everyone. 

    even though 相当于even if,意思即使,纵然”。

    4. It is a beautiful girl who is wearing a blouse and skirt, and who is protecting her books against

    the showers. 

    这是一个由who引导的定语从句,先行词是______,关系代词在从句中做_____

    present是动词,意思是“授予

    主要表达结构有:present sth. to sb. present sb. with sth.

    Activity 5

    T asks Ss to show their partners the photos that they prepared for this lesson.

    Activity 6

    T asks Ss to ask and answer the following questions by working in pairs:

    2. Where was it taken?

    3. Where are the things and/or people in the photo?

    4. Why do you like it?

    Activity 7

    1. T asks Ss to write a passage about their photos.

    2. T analyses the topic of this module and the writing ideas.
