第一课时
B Let’s Learn,A Let’s Listen and Say
1.能听懂、会说、认读、会写新单词afraid,close,tired,difficult,clever,worry,kid。
2.能听懂、会说、认读词汇和短语monster,still,later on。
3.能用“I’m (not)…”在实际情景中表达自己的感受;能听懂、会说A部分的对话。
4.在生活中大胆表达自己的感受。
能听懂、会说、认读、会写新单词afraid,close,tired,difficult,clever,worry,kid;能用“I’m (not)…”来表达自己的感受。
能在正确的情境下用英语“Don’t worry. You’re still a kid. You’ll be better later on.”来安慰他人。
用于新授单词的图片、单词卡片、教学挂图、教学磁带等(有条件的学校可利用幻灯片、媒体课件)。
Step 1 Warmup & Revision
1.Greetings
T: Good morning./Good afternoon. How are you?
Ss: Good morning./Good afternoon. I’m fine, thank you.
2.Sing a song If You Are Happy.
(教师和学生一起边唱边做动作,既可起到示范的作用,又可使课堂气氛更热烈些。)

B Let’s Learn
1.New words
教师与学生自由对话,引入新词的学习。
(1) tired
T: Hello, Daming. How are you?
S1: I’m fine, thanks. And you?
T: I’m not very well. I am tired. I went to bed too late last night. (出示单词卡片tired,板书并带读新词)
T: Are you tired today?
S1: Yes, I am tired.
S2: No, I am not tired.
(2) monster,afraid,afraid of
T: I’m tired. I should do something. Sleep? I shouldn’t sleep in the class. I’ll see a picture. Let’s have a look.
出示一张monster的图片。
T: Look at this monster. (板书并分音节带读monster;monster,monster)
T: I’m afraid. I’m afraid of the monster. (教师做出害怕的样子。边板书边教读单词afraid)
区分afraid与afraid of的用法。
T: Look at the monster here! Are you afraid of it?
S1: I’m afraid. I’m afraid of the monster.
S2: I’m not afraid.
T: What are you afraid of?
S1: I’m afraid of tigers.
S2: I’m afraid of lions.
S3: I’m afraid of snakes.
(预测:学生可能会说成“I’m afraid of tiger.”,教师要注意提醒学生tiger用复数形式来表示这一类动物。)
(3) clever
T: Can you guess the meaning of “afraid”?
Ss: 害怕的。
T: Wonderful! You are so clever.
将单词clever板书到黑板上,教给学生正确的发音。
(4) difficult
课件展示一幅孩子正在思考一道难题的图片。
T: What is the boy doing?
Ss: He is doing homework.
T: How does he feel? Is he happy?
S1: No. He is sad.
S2: He is angry.
S3: He is tired.
T: Why? Because his homework is difficult.
(出示单词卡片difficult,板书并带读。注意分音节带读:difficult,difficult)
2.操练词汇。
(1) 利用磁带的地道发音带读。
(2) 头脑风暴。操练方法:教师给学生一分钟的时间抢记上述单词,然后给出单词的首字母,让学生快速说出是哪些单词。
A Let’s Listen and Say
The dialogue
建议采用问题导学、整体理解的教学方法进行语篇教学,即教师针对语篇设计一系列问题,并根据问题设计相应的教学活动,学生在问题引导下,完成文本的学习。
1.Listen and answer
不打开书,听课文录音,回答问题。
Q: Where were the children?
2.Read and answer
细读课文,回答问题。
Q1: In Picture 1, the girls ________ the monster.
Q2: In Picture 2, the boy is ________.
Q3: In Picture 3 and 4, is Dongdong afraid of difficulties?
此处教授difficulty,注意与difficult进行区分。
3.Read together and think
Q1: Is Dongdong not clever?
Q2: What can you say to Dongdong?
4.Follow the tape
跟磁带或光碟朗读课文,模仿正确的语音、语调。
5.我们都爱演:学生分小组表演课文场景,可选择课文中的一个或几个不同的场景进行表演;可以自己添加台词。对于能自己添加台词的小组,给予特别奖励。
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
游戏:胡萝卜蹲。将全班分为六大组,每组各选派一位代表轮流上台进行该游戏,几位代表分别命名为S1:tired,S2:close,S3:afraid,S4:clever,S5:difficult,S6:worry。游戏如下:
S1:tired蹲,tired蹲,tired蹲完close蹲;(边说边做动作)
S2:close蹲,close蹲,close蹲完clever蹲;
……
说错、做错或反应较慢的学生淘汰出局,游戏可多进行几轮,留到最后的即为胜出者,教师给予个人及其所在的小组相应的奖励。
Step 4 Summing up & Homework
1.小结:师生共同总结本节课的主要内容。
2.作业:①熟读A部分课文;②抄写B部分单词,并默写;③和同伴一起演一演、说一说关于内心感受的句子。

本课时单词都比较简单,同学们掌握得还不错。在对A部分内容进行角色表演时,同学们积极性很高,课堂气氛较好,但是有部分同学只会背诵书本上的内容,一旦主语人称稍作变换就不太能理解了,如“be afraid of…”结构的应用,当主语是He/She时,他们就不能灵活、正确地表达感受了。
第二课时

1.进一步巩固、运用新词汇afraid,tired,difficult,clever,close,worry,kid。
2.能听懂、会说、认读词汇swimwear,step,use,reply,hold。
3.能在正确的语境中运用“I’m…” “I’m afraid of…”表达自己的情感与情绪。
4.能用“Don’t worry.”来安慰他人。
5.能用简单的句子表达自己的情感、情绪以及产生的原因。

阅读前通过头脑风暴(brain Storm)进行思维拓展,联系有关游泳的一些词汇,唤醒旧知,同时提前预热短文。

T: Yes, you can think of a swimming pool.
S2: A swimming cap.
T: Good. You can think of a swimming cap.

(预测:学生回答时可能只是说单词,教师注意提醒学生用完整的句子表达:I can think of …)

1.Prereading
教师出示D部分图片,交代故事背景,和学生一起谈论图片。
T: Mrs Chen took Lingling and Dongdong to a swimming pool for a swim. Look! What can you see in the picture?
S1: I can see Mrs Chen, Lingling and Dongdong.
S2: I can see a swimming pool.
S3: …
接着教师出示单词卡swimwear,pool,step,板书并教读。
2.Whilereading
①学生观看D部分影音,初读短文,并回答问题。
Q: Why didn’t Dongdong go into the pool?
②学生细读短文,回答下列问题。
Q1: How could Dongdong come into the pool?
Q2: Who would teach Dongdong how to swim?
Q3: Who held Dongdong’s hands?
③学生齐读短文,回答问题。
Q: What did Mrs Chen say to Dongdong at last?
④学生找小伙伴共读短文,并完成D部分习题,最后检查答案。
3.Postreading
引导学生将本课短文改编成对话,并进行对话朗读。
4.Practice
(1)最佳编剧
T: Let’s write a play according to Part D.
学生四人一组,根据D部分短文改编剧本,并分角色朗读。
A: Mrs Chen took Lingling and Dongdong to a swimming pool for a swim.
Lingling: I like swimming. I enjoy the cool water. Come on, Dongdong!
Dongdong: I’m afraid of water.
Mrs Chen: Don’t worry. It’s safe.
Dongdong: But I can’t swim.
Mrs Chen: Use the steps to come into the pool. I’ll teach you how to swim. I can hold your hands.
Dongdong: Thank you! Mum!
Lingling: Come on!
Mrs Chen: You can’t learn to swim till you jump into the water.
(2)寻找最佳男、女主角
学生将自己改编的剧本表演出来,同学们评选最佳男、女主角。
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
游戏:心情树。
教师在黑板上画一棵大树,给学生一分钟的时间在树叶卡片上写下自己的心情或烦恼(心情或烦恼可用中文表述),然后依次贴在树上,变成“树叶”。请学生上台随机抽取“树叶”,尝试着用句型“I’m (not)…”说出树叶上面的情绪感受,然后教师让在座的其他同学提建议,用“You should…” “Don’t worry. You’ll be better later on.”等句型和本单元所学的词组,帮这片树叶的主人解决烦恼,表现积极者,教师给予奖励。

本课时C部分同学们都觉得很简单,单词基本能很快地说出,但是be动词的运用就很不理想,很多同学不会根据主语的变化而变化。阅读D部分短文时同学们都比较认真,课堂气氛也不错,只是仍有少数学生对阅读不够重视,只停留于在文中找答案。
第三课时

1.进一步巩固、运用新词汇afraid,tired,difficult,clever等。
2.能听懂、会说新词汇exam。
3.复习F部分表格中的词汇,并能顺利地在字母表中找到这些词汇。
4.通过观察或在阅读语境中感知他人的感受,并运用“He/She is…”描述他人的感受,给出合理的建议。
5.了解他人的感受,关心他人。

教师出示E部分图片,与学生谈论图片,引出新句型“He/She is…”。

S1: Maybe he climbed mountains.
S2: Maybe he swam.
T: Look! It’s Anne’s birthday. How does she feel now?

用同样的方法,先观察图片中人物的情绪,然后预测产生这些情绪的原因,并讨论解决的方法。
2.完成E部分习题。

1.Game: Magic Eyes. (火眼金睛)
教师用课件依次快速出示F部分的单词,学生快速读出所看到的单词,最后全体齐读单词。
2.寻找单词。(Find these words)
学生在字母表中圈出F部分的单词。
3.教师核对答案。
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
1.活动:送单词宝宝回家。
学生四人一小组完成任务,将F部分的单词分类。看哪个组最先完成。
2.在黑板上写几个单词,每个单词分别写上不同的数字,如together(0),difficult(3)…组内一个人读单词,其余组员看数字是几,便读几遍,是0则不读,看谁读错。从前面几个单元所学的单词中,每组各抽10个进行小组PK赛。出错率最低,完成情况最好的小组获胜,教师予以奖励。

本课时E部分要求学生根据句意以及图片提示,选词填空,补全句子,难度不大,学生完成得较好。同时又要求学生用英语来表达自己的看法和见解,让学生有话可说,在真实的语境中说英语,提高了学生说英语的欲望。
通过本单元的学习,让学生学会表达自己的情感与情绪,并说明产生的原因;当别人遇到困难时,学会关心、帮助他人;通过与他人情感交流,来分享自己的情感与情绪,并从身边的同伴处获得正能量,知道困难并不可怕,一切都会好起来。
