    教学过程:

    I.  Pre-task preparation

    1. To sing an English song 

    T: Class begins! Good morning, class. 

    Ss: Good morning, Miss….

    T: Oh, it is a nice song.  Shall we sing it?  Ss: O.K.

    ----  to sing a song. 

    T: Good / Wonderful / well done!

    2.Think and write

    T:  Now lets remember the text we have learnt before, and we discuss the following blanks, then fill in them.

    (A)

    Mr Li received a (1) __________ from his (2) __________, Weiming. Weiming is Ben and Kitty’s (3) __________. He lives in (4) __________.     1. Listen and read

    T: The Li family has arrived in Beijing. Simon and Lucy want to take Ben and Kitty to some interesting places.

    To learn their greetings, and then read and learn by heart them.

    Hi, Simon. Hi, Lucy.

    Nice to meet you.

    Hi, Ben. Hi, Kitty. Nice to meet you.

    We’ve found some information about some interesting places.

    2. Look and learn

    T: Look at the pictures, and guess where is it?

    Do you know these places in Beijing?

    Read and understand them.

    a)        the Summer Palace

    b)       the Great Wall

    c)        Tian’anmen Square

    d)       the Palace Museum

    e)        swan

    f)         mountain

    g)        bricks

    h)       stones

    i)         Chinese national

    j)         raise the Chinese national flag

    k)       ancient history

    show students the pictures about the phrases and ask them to say it out.

    3. Read and answer

    T: Simon and Lucy have found some information about some interesting places. Here is the brochure they have got. Lets get some information from the brochure.

    (Divide the text into four parts and learn them)

    The Summer Palace

    It is in the north-west of Beijing. Tourists can see a lot of old buildings and temples at the palace. Kunming Lake is a beautiful lake inside the palace. Tourists can see swans swimming on the lake.

    1)     Read the text together

    2)     One student read the text

    T: Now answer me the following questions.

    a)        Where is the Summer Palace?

    b)        What is at the palace?

    c)        What is the name of the lake?

    d)        What can you see on the lake?

    The  Great  Wall

    It is north of Beijing. It is a long wall with towers on it. People built it a long time ago with bricks and stones. Tourists can see beautiful mountains from the wall.

    1)     Read the text after the recording

    2)     Read the text together

    T: Answer the following questions according this part.

    a)        Where is the Great Wall?

    b)        When did people build it?

    c)        What did ancient people build it with?

    d)        What can you see on the wall?

    e)        What can you see from the wall?

    Tiananmen  Square

    It is in the centre of Beijing. It is a huge open area. It can hold more than one million people. Every morning, tourists can see soldiers raising the Chinese national flag in the square.

    1)     Read the text after one top student

    2)     Several students read the text

    T: There are some questions for you.

    a)        Where is Tian’anmen Square?

    b)        How many people can it hold?

    c)        What do soldiers do every morning in Tiananmen Square?

    The Palace Museum

    It is in the centre of Beijing. It is a place with many ancient buildings. If tourists want to know the history of China, they can visit the museum.

    1)     Read after the recording

    2)     Do soft-reading

    3)     Several students read the text

    T: Some questions for you.

    a)        Where is the Palace Museum?

    b)        When can people see at the Palace Museum?

    c)        Why do many people visit the museum?
