3 min | Warm up | The teacher asks Ss “Have you ever taken part in any sports events?” and invite individual S to share his/her experience. | ||||||
4 min | Reading for main idea & specific information | 1.The Teacher asks Ss to read the questions and then predict the answers according to the picture. 2.Ss read the passage to check their answers. | ||||||
2 min | Reading for structure | Ss read again, working out the structure and content of a sporting moment. | ||||||
3 min | Reading for language | 1.Students underline the transition words and some useful expressions in the passage. 2.Students summarize the transition words when writing a sporting moment. 3.Teacher leads Ss to figure out the way the author describes the scene in the passage. | ||||||
2 min | Reading for feature | Teacher guides Ss to summarize the features of a narrative writing.(basic elements, person, tense, order) | ||||||
6 min | Preparation for writing | 1.Teacher asks students to think about an unforgettable sporting moment they have experienced and complete the table in Activity 6 with the key information. 2.Teacher organizes Ss to brainstorm some useful expressions and sentence patterns so that they can collect enough materials for writing a sporting moment. | ||||||
