    Period 4 (Section B 2a-Self Check)设计说明  本课时是上一课时的延伸,是在学生了解如何用英语问路和指路的基础上,学会如何用文字描述自己居住的社区环境。阅读材料再现了本单元的重点词汇、语法、功能项目,内容丰富,便于帮助学生巩固本单元所学知识;3a的写作训练提供了地图和范文,3b让学生自己绘制社区地图并进行仿写。这一写作任务可与前面的阅读部分联系在一起,让学生学会选取阅读篇章中有用的句型和表达,丰富自己的写作内容。通过写与练的结合,巩固所学知识。教学目标  1. 知识目标:  (1)掌握单词和短语:neighborhood,spend,monkey,climb,road,often,air,sunshine,free,enjoy,easily,money;spend time,enjoy reading。  (2)掌握句型:  I like to spend time there on weekends. Ask the students to try to pronounce the new words one by one,and then the teacher corrects it.   T:Please look at the new words. Let’s find out whose pronunciation is the best.   2. Read and translate the following words and phrases into Chinese. Fast reading.   Read the passages. Match each passage with a map.   Answers:Anna 2,John 3,Lisa 1  2. Careful reading.   The teacher asks the students to read the passages after the recording and answer the questions in 2c.   Answers:1. She likes watching the monkeys climbing around in the zoo.   2. Yes,she does. Anna thinks that when the monkeys fight,they look like her and her friends.   3. He likes to exercise at the park.   4. Answers will vary.   5. Lisa walks to the library. She goes down North Road and then turns left. The library is across from the park.   3. Read the passages,find out the following phrases,and then translate them into Chinese.   (1)in my neighborhood 在我家附近  (2)on weekends 在周末  (3)look like 看上去像  (4)get there 到那儿  (5)walk out 步行外出  (6)walk along 沿着……走  (7)clean air 洁净的空气  (8)in life 在生活中  (9)be free 免费  (10)get to 到达  (11)go down 沿着……走  Step 4 Group work  Discuss the language points.   (1)spend意为“花费”,既可以指花费时间,也可以指花费金钱。它的常用结构为“某人+spend(s)+时间/金钱+on sth. ”或“某人+spend(s)+时间/金钱+doing sth. ”。  He often spends much money on/buying books.   他经常花费很多钱买书。  (2)watch sb. /sth. doing sth. 意为“观看某人/某物正在做某事”;watch sb. /sth. do sth. 意为“观看某人/某物做/经常做某事”。  类似的动词还有see,hear,notice(注意)等。  They are watching us playing soccer.   他们在看我们踢足球。  We often watch them play soccer.   我们经常看他们踢足球。  (3)enjoy后的动词要用-ing形式,即enjoy doing sth.,表示“喜欢做某事;享受做某事所带来的愉悦和乐趣”。  I enjoy reading on rainy days but my sister enjoys sleeping.   在下雨天我喜欢读书而我姐姐喜欢睡觉。  Step 5 Writing  1. Work on 3a.   T:Look at the map of Cindy’s neighborhood in 3a and fill in the blanks.   Answers:library;supermarket;post office,library;park;hotel  2. Ask the students to read the passage aloud for three or five minutes. Then ask some students to retell the passage.   3. Work on 3b.   T:Boys and girls,please draw a map of your neighborhood and write about it with the help of the questions in 3b.   Then ask a student to draw on the blackboard and talk about it.   Step 6 Self Check  1. Complete the passage with the words in the box in Exercise 1.   Answers:free;enjoy;climbing/climb;spend  2. Have the students work in small groups to make sentences using “there is/are”. Answers will vary.   3. Give the students enough time to make conversations. Then ask some of them to role-play the conversations.   Step 7 Summary  In this lesson,we have learned:  1. Words and phrases:neighborhood,spend,monkey,climb,road,often,air,sunshine,free,enjoy,easily,money;spend time,enjoy reading.   2. Sentence structures:I like to spend time there on weekends.
