Nkcr has sld ver 500,000 lamps in ver 120 cuntries since it was first funded in 2010 and Rants thinks the demand fr his prduct will nly cntinue t increase. Mst lamps fund in third-wrld cuntries currently require kersene t run. but kersene causes indr pllutin and has been linked t fires that have caused ver a millin deaths.
Instead f experiencing the effects f smking 40 cigarettes a day frm kersene lamps, Rants thinks his slar lamps culd be the answer fr third-wrld cuntries. The Ecnmist agrees, calling slar lights “the next big innvatin fr the wrld’s pr”. Nker’s slar lamps are higher in quality and less expensive than a lt f slar technlgy, making them a practical ptin fr many peple in third wrld cuntries.
Rather than giving slar lamps t individuals in need. Nker’s missin is t make them affrdable. Thrugh research Rants has realized that individuals wh buy a slar prduct take better care f it and value it mre than if they had received it fr free. Families wh buy Nker’s slar lamps make up the cst in just a few mnths f nt having t buy kersene r pay fr ff-the-grid electricity.
Sme activists have attacked cmpanies such as Nker fr selling prducts t the pr rather than simply giving them ut fr free. They argue that these cmpanies unfairly prfit ff the pr. 22.(8分)The husing market in Canada has been in a dangerus situatin. A recent news item said that the wner f tw high-rise buildings f rental apartments had tld his tenants (房客) that their rent wuld duble in three mnths.

      第二节(每小题1.5分,满分15分)阅读下面材料,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
      27.(15分)Dear headmaster,
On hearing the news that a Reading Festival is t be held n campus n the Wrld Bk and Cpyright Day and the pssible prject is pen t be recmmended, I 1. hardly wait t write t yu, sharing my humble pinins.
As far as I’m cncerned, the theme f the festival can be “sharing”, primarily 2. (cnsist) f three parts. Firstly, the festival can start with a 30-minute discussin where grups f students can exchange and share what they 3. (expse) t recently, expressing themselves freely. Fllwing this sectin is the speech. Teacher and student representatives previusly selected by us are t share and recmmend the bk they think really deserving t be read. It’s needless t say that the last sharing sectin which is the mst meaningful is dnatin, during 4. time everyne present, teachers r students, is expected t dnate ne r mre bks t the library. As fr when 5. (hld) the activity, the afternn may be an ideal chice s that it wn’t interrupt ur classes.
My advice is justified by the fllwing reasns. First and fremst, it is in the grup discussin and exchange that we students can have a thrugh idea 6. ur peers are reading fr the mment, serving as a driving frce fr ur wn reading jurney. S it is 7. the bks recmmended. Named by thse “idls” in ur mind, they will definitely win ur heart. As fr the dnatin, the benefits are exactly self-evident. 8. can we share beynd ur class r even beynd ur schl, develping a gd campus traditin, but 9. (imprtantly), these bks which are sure t be dusted n ur shelves can nw be f mre value.
I’m lking frward t yur favrable reply. And 10. is my sincere hpe that the festival can be a great success and we can gain a lt frm it.
      Yurs,
      Amy Yung
