Researchers in New Yrk did nt find an actual funtain f yuth, but they may have fund a way t turn back the aging prcess. It appears the answer may be hidden right between yur eyes, in an area called the hypthalamus.
The hypthalamus is part f yur brain. It cntrls imprtant activities within the bdy. Cai Dngsheng, a prfessr at the Albert Einstein Cllege f Medicine, fund that hypthalamus stem cells influence hw fast aging takes place in the bdy as well. He als reprted that when the hypthalamus starts aging, s des the bdy.
“S when hypthalamus functin is in decline, particularly the lss f hypthalamus stem cells, and this prtectin against the aging develpment is lst, it eventually leads t aging.”
Using this infrmatin, the researchers began trying t activate (激活) r energize the hypthalamus in labratry mice. They did this by injecting (注射) the animals with stem cells. Later, the researchers examined tissues and tested fr changes in behavir. They lked fr changes in the strength f the animals’ muscles. They als studied the scial behavir and cgnitive (认知) ability f the mice.
The researchers say the results shw that the treatment slwed aging in the animals. Cai says injecting middle-aged mice with stem cells frm yunger mice helped the lder animals live lnger.
These findings culd lead t new ways t help dctrs identify and treat any number f health issues cncerning aging prblems. If the mice can live lnger, des that mean peple culd have lnger lives? This is the questin Cai and his team are thinking abut.

T cnduct the study, the researchers lked at 13 dgs. The researchers measured the dgs’ brain activity with a brain scanner while the dgs listened t recrdings f their trainers speaking different cmbinatins f wrds and intnatins.
