• The underlined wrd "..." culd be replaced by...
例如,原文是 “The prject was initiated in 2020”,选项可能是 “The prject started three years ag” (假设当前是2023年)。
表因果:because, since, as a result, therefre, thus → 可推断事件原因或结果。
结论合理性:正确选项通常是 “温水煮青蛙”式的温和结论,如 “The methd is prmising but requires further testing.”
线索词:that is, meaning, refer t, namely, in ther wrds,破折号、括号。
线索词:such as, fr example, like, including。
线索词:but, hwever, unlike, n the cntrary, similarly, like。
线索词:because, since, as a result, therefre, thus, s。

例1-1第1题:题干“native plants” → 定位到第二段“creating habitat that supprts beneficial insects and birds”。
例1-1第2题:原文“prevent cats and ther animals frm drwning” → 选项A “Ensure safety fr wild animals near waterways”。
例1-1第1题:A项“Making deserted lts used again”是种植行为的附带结果,并非native plants的直接作用。
特别留意because, s, therefre, thus, as a result等因果关联词,以及but, hwever, yet等转折词后的信息,常为考点。
例1-2第1题:原文“when he t disappear”直接揭示了Wlfgang行动的原因。

Despite cntinued braking, the SU7 hit the barrier at apprximately 97km/h, leading t fatalities.
Key cntrversies emerged immediately. First, the 2-secnd windw fr driver interventin sparked questins abut NOA’s design. At 116km/h, the car cvers rughly 64 meters in 2 secnds, while the SU7’s fficial 100km/h braking distance is 33.5 meters, but this is under ideal test cnditins, nt nighttime highway scenaris with sudden lane changes. Secnd, the SU7 Standard’s AEB (Autmatic Emergency Braking) system nly respnds t vehicles, pedestrians, and tw-wheelers, failing t detect cnstructin barriers. Experts pinted ut that this limitatin left the driver slely reliant n split-secnd reactins.
The autmatic parking incidents added anther layer f cmplexity. In mid-Nvember 2025, wners acrss China described the SU7 veering int ther cars r pillars during autmated parking. One driver reprted tw cnsecutive failures: “The first time it rushed tward a vehicle; the secnd time, it hit a clumn withut any cllisin warning.” Xiami’s custmer service acknwledged sftware bugs but emphasized drivers must “take ver immediately” if bstacles like bushes r wires are present — limitatins nt prminently disclsed in marketing materials.

A.The SU7’s failure t issue bstacle warnings
B.The insufficient braking distance f the SU7 Standard
C.The driver’s delayed respnse within the given time windw
D.The AEB system’s inability t detect cnstructin barriers
2. Why did the autmatic parking incidents raise public cncern?
A.Xiami’s marketing materials hid the functin’s limitatins
B.The sftware bugs were caused by recent OTA updates
C.The ultrasnic radar failed t detect all types f bstacles
D.Drivers were unable t take ver due t system malfunctins

根据第四段中的“Since 1981, the lcal gvernment f Yangxian Cunty has put frward fur bans fr the prtectin f the species, prhibiting activities including hunting in the birds’ living areas, cutting dwn trees where they nest, using chemicals in their fd-finding areas, and firing guns in their breeding (繁殖) areas. 2. 根据第六段中的“It is lucky that the crested ibis, an ancient bird, is still flying arund,” said Zan Linsen, head f the Shaanxi Academy f Frestry. “The cnservatin stry f crested ibises nt nly shws us the pwer f ancient life but als the necessity and urgency f eclgical envirnment prtectin.(陕西省林业科学院院长 Zan Linsen表示:“幸运的是,朱鹮这种古老的鸟类仍在翱翔。
例2-1:Mark说“It’s been a jy watching them takes pleasure in...”
例2-2第2题:Zan Linsen的话“It is lucky...”
例2-1段首:“Many peple nted that their effrts ften felt small. But the jy, satisfactin and thrugh.”

As an audi engineer with tw decades f experience, Patrick Helen has lng been captivated by hw sund shapes human emtin. But it was a 2018 encunter with a deaf teenager — wh described music as “a blank space” despite feeling bass vibratins at cncerts — that sparked his missin: t turn invisible sund int tangible tuch, letting the hearing-impaired “hear” music thrugh their skin.
After three years f research and develpment (R&D) and 117 prttype iteratins, Helen unveiled the TactiSund Suit in 2021. The lightweight, wearable suit is embedded with 24 micr-vibratin sensrs, each calibrated t capture distinct sund frequencies: lw bass ntes trigger gentle rumblings in the waistband, mid-range meldies pulse n the frearms, and high-pitched harmnies create subtle vibratins near the shulders. A wireless receiver cnnects the suit t any audi surce — frm cncert speakers t smartphnes — cnverting sund waves int precise tactile signals in real time.
Fr the deaf and hard f hearing, the suit is transfrmative. In a 2023 trial at Peterbrugh’s Ryal Natinal Institute fr Deaf Peple, 89% f participants reprted “feeling the structure f music” fr the first time. Mia Carter, a 19-year-ld deaf student, described her experience at a classical cncert: “The vilin’s vibrat mved up my arm like a breath, and the cell’s bass made my chest feel full — like I was hugging the music.” Beynd entertainment, Helen designed the suit t be accessible: it’s machine-washable, battery-pwered fr 12 hurs, and is priced 30% lwer than similar assistive devices.
Helen’s visin extends further. He’s partnering with music schls t integrate TactiSund int deaf educatin, and plans t add custmizable vibratin patterns fr different genres-jazz’s syncpatin might feel like quick taps n the wrists, while pera’s crescends culd build frm the ankles t the chest. “Music isn’t just abut hearing,” he says. “It’s abut feeling cnnected t smething bigger.
Wh, What, When, Where, Why, Hw。
例3-2:首段“Frm the wrld’s last seven t a glbal ppulatin f mre than 5,000, China spent nearly 40 years bringing back crested ibises frm the edge f extinctin.”
例3-1的“A Breakthrugh in...”(一项突破)和例3-2的“Making a Cmeback”(回归)都很好地体现了新闻价值。

Exciting news is n the hrizn as Califrnia pwer authrities have successfully cmpleted their grundbreaking slar panel-cvered canal prject, which prmises t generate a remarkable 1.6 megawatts (兆瓦) f clean energy. This innvative initiative, led by the Turlck Irrigatin District Water & Pwer, plays a vital rle in irrigating (灌溉) essential crps like cttn and tmates in the heart f Califrnia’s central valley.
The inspiratin fr this prject came frm a 2021 research paper by scientists at the University f Califrnia, Santa Cruz, wh discvered that cvering canals with slar panels culd save an astnishing 63.5 billin gallns f water frm evapratin (蒸发) each year. This brilliant idea nt nly cnserves water but als ffers an incredible benefit: fr every megawatt f slar energy prduced during Turlck’s average 290 sunny days, the panels culd replace 15-20 diesel (柴油) generatrs that traditinally pump water alng these canals.
Knwn as Prject Nexus, this initiative tk flight in Octber 2022. It stands ut in the wrld and the secnd f its kind in the US. The prject will be clsely mnitred t see hw its perfrmance matches the prmising prjectins.

对比/转折关系:利用but, hwever, while, n the cntrary等信号词前后的相反意思进行推断。
例3-1: funding was “a drp in the bucket” relative t the state’s prpsed $291.5 billin budget.
例3-2: “Zhang’s distinctive blend f martial arts mastery and dance skills...”
因果关系:利用because, since, as, s, therefre等词,从原因或结果推断词义。
举例关系:通过such as, like, fr example, including等引出的具体例子来归纳词义。
示例: “The cmpany is lking t field a new team.”

A machine can nw nt nly beat yu at chess, it can als utperfrm yu in debate. Last week, in a public debate in San Francisc, a sftware prgram called Prject Debater beat its human ppnents, including Na Ovadia, Israel’s frmer natinal debating champin.
Brilliant thugh it is, Prject Debater has sme weaknesses. It takes sentences frm its library f dcuments and prebuilt arguments and strings them tgether. This can lead t the kinds f errrs n human wuld make. Such wrinkles will n dubt be irned ut, yet they als pint t a fundamental prblem. As Kristian Hammnd, prfessr f electrical engineering and cmputer science at Nrthwestern University, put it: “There’s never a stage at which the system knws what it’s talking abut.”
What Hammnd is referring t is the questin f meaning, and meaning is central t what distinguishes the least intelligent f humans frm the mst intelligent f machines. A cmputer wrks with symbls. Its prgram specifies a set f rules t transfrm ne string f symbls int anther. But it des nt specify what thse symbls mean. Indeed, t a cmputer, meaning is irrelevant. Humans, in thinking, talking, reading and writing, als wrk with symbls. But fr humans, meaning is everything. When we cmmunicate, we cmmunicate meaning. What matters is nt just the utside f a string f symbls, but the inside t, nt just hw they are arranged but what they mean.
Meaning emerges thrugh a prcess f scial interactin, nt f cmputatin, interactin that shapes the cntent f the symbls in ur heads. The rules that assign meaning lie nt just inside ur heads, but als utside, in sciety, in scial memry, scial cnventins and scial relatins. It is this that distinguishes humans frm machines. And that’s why, hwever astnishing Prject Debater may seem, the traditin that began with Scrates and Cnfucius will nt end with artificial intelligence.
