The tp f Munt Qmlangma seemed right within reach. But n ne had ever climbed the last few metres f the Secnd Step befre.2 Liu Lianman led the way. He tried fur times. Each time, he fell back int the snw. The thin air tk his strength away. “I'm nt strng enugh t try again,” he thught. S he chse t be a “human ladder" fr his teammates! He lwered his bdy and let Qu Yinhua stand n his shulders. Slwly, bit by bit, Liu std up and helped Qu climb t the tp. Every secnd was painful,but Liu std still. And he did the same fr Gng Bu. Then he and Wang Fuzhu climbed up with a rpe.

This shws he cared mre abut the team than himself, and he never gave up easily. He played a key rle in his team. He was a helper and supprter.
