Prcedures:
Activity 1:
Play “Kim’s game”. This is actually a revisin f learnt vcabulary rather than a game. The teacher shws the children a picture f a schl thing fr nly 30 secnds and remves it. Then the children try t recall the name f it in English. In this way the whle class can revise the target items.
Activity 2:
Play a TPR game. Grup the pupils in furs, play a “Grup up the tthpicks” game in which they divide the tthpicks in threes/furs/fives as quickly as pssible. When it’s ready, as the children t reprt hw many tthpicks they have gruped.
Activity 3:
“Let’s sing “.
Intrduce the sng in “Let’s Sing” by telling the pupils that yu are ging t sing a sng.
Intrduce the pupils t the key vcabulary (little,black,cat,cats,nle,tw,three,fur,five,six,seven,eight,nine,ten,merw) and the chunk in the sng, put the cut-ut pictures f cats n the slide prjectr. Narrate the sng.
Play the tape; get children t listen t it. The teacher hlds up the relevant number prmpt cards.
The teacher sings the sng again, inviting the pupils t jin humming. D this twice if necessary.
The pupils sing the sng n their wn in chrus. Ask sme f them t hld up the number prmpt cards (teacher’s wn decisin f Arabic frm nly r with English frm)
Sing again r twice, identify the fur big grups as “ne little, tw little, three little cats”
Activity 4:
get children t d activity 1 and 2 n page 10 (activity bk) as a fllw up activity. Draw the children’s attentin t the numbers by translating “What did yur mum buy fr yu, Andy? “My mum bught “int Chinese.
Activity 5:
Remind the pupils t sing the sng t their parents and end the class.
