Prcedures:
Activity 1:
Have a free talk with the children abut their tys. Prvide input f “yu have….” “Hw many ….d yu have? “Write them n the bard. E.g. ty dg, snpy, dll, ty car, ty bus, ty ship, pp gun, ty animals. etc
Activity 2:
Set up the situatin fr “Let’s play” by shifting the children’s attentin t Andy’s tys. Play a memry game f “what tys des Andy have” first, tell the children that yu are ging t play a memry game abut Andy’s tys. Secndly, hld up the enlarged picture n page 20 f the textbk. Allw 20 secnds fr the children t lk and remember. D nt allw any writing. Thirdly, suggest the children act as Andy when answer the questins. Hld up the pictures f the key wrds (dll, cat, teddy bear, dg) in turn, then ask the children: “d yu have any teddy bears?” “D yu have any dgs?” respectively, when a child gives a right answer, a pint is added t that grup. Stick the pictures n the bard. The grup with the mst pints will win the game.
Activity 3:
mdel the prnunciatin f the key wrds, read each ne three times, then invite the children t repeat in chrus, the individually. Check prnunciatin carefully and purpsefully. Stick the prmpt cards n the bard.
Activity 4:
write a number alngside each f the prmpt cards. Get the class t say (in chrus) the dlls in sequence. Then remve ne f the cards frm smewhere in the sequence. Nw the class chruses the whle sequence including the missing card. Remve anther card and get the children t say the whle sequence again.
Activity 5:
get the children t d activity 3 n page 11. Play the tape; explain what the children are ging t d in this activity. Pilt the activity.
Alternative:
D activity 5 instead. Adapt it as “listen, lk, match and say”. Then ask the children t tell the teacher hw they have dne that.
Activity 6:
D “let’s Play” with a purpse f helping Andy t cunt his tys and write dwn their numbers under the relevant pictures n page 20. Then reprt the results t the teacher. Sme mre items can be added t prvide mre pprtunities.
Activity 7:
get the children t d activity 4 n page 11. Check the answers with the class after listening.
Activity 8:
get the children t d activity 6 n page 13 individually.
Activity 9:
elicit frm the children what they have learnt and what they are able t d. End the class.
