Maeve Higgins nce set herself a task. The Irish-brn cmedian wanted t see what life wuld be like if she stpped laughing at things that weren’t funny. Turns ut it wasn’t as easy as she thught. “It was s hard,” she says. “ Laughter is a lubricant (润滑油) and is expected, and it’s really hard nt t d it.”
Higgins suggests there’s smething particularly special abut being part f the shared experience that is live cmedy — that curius magic that ccurs when peple cme tgether specifically t laugh.
Cmedy is mre than just a pleasant way t pass an evening, humur mre than smething t amuse. They’re interwven int ur everyday existence. Whether yu’re sharing an amusing stry at a party r telling a dark jke at a funeral, humur is everywhere. But what is it fr? And can humur, as cmedy, change hw we feel, what we think r even what we d?
As an essential part f human interactin, humur has been n the minds f thinkers fr centuries. One f the mst enduring theries f humur was put frward by the philspher Thmas Hbbes. It asserts that humur appears t make fun f the weak and exert superirity. While this is clearly the functin f sme cmedy, it’s far frm a cmplete explanatin fr the verall purpse f humur.
Fr sme cmedians, it’s nt just abut getting laughs — it’s abut changing what we think and maybe even what we d. If there’s ne cmic wh is really typical f this, it’s Jsie Lng. A scial justice activist and a cmedian, Lng has a reputatin fr delightful, ptimistic humur and strytelling.
As her career has evlved, she has cnsciusly put scial and plitical tpics at the heart f her act. She believes that cmedians have a rle t play in challenging sme f the mst pressing issues f the day.
British cmic Stephen K Ams sells ut venues seating thusands, year in, year ut. Ams firmly believes that when cmics cnsciusly deal with pressing r cntrversial (有争议的)scial issues like racism, they can reach peple n a much mre meaningful level than that achieved by briefly lifting smene’s md. And while it may be difficult t quantify, he says, the scial and psychlgical impact f cmedy deserves much greater recgnitin.
The research backs this up. Althugh the rle f cmedy is t be entertaining first and fremst, Sharn Lckyer, a scilgist wh studies humur, has identified a number f pssible ther functins. These include challenging steretypes
Ams’s wrk frequently settles the issues f race by challenging steretypes.”I dn’t d things fr shck value,” he says. “ I d stuff that matters t me. In the ld days it was just abut ding jkes. We’ve mved n — peple are talking abut things that matter. ”

      命题规律1.文中长复合句、特殊句型处常考2.语言转折和强对比处常考3.对文章中心思想处常考
      推理判断题解题思维
      1. 理解文章的字面意思,从字里行间捕捉有用的提示和线索,打好推理判断的基础。
      2. 对文字的表面信息由浅入深地进行挖掘,通过分析、综合、判定等,进行合乎逻辑的推断。不能断章取义,以偏概全,局限于肤浅的表面意思。
      3. 忠实于原文,以文章提供的事实和线索为依据进行合理推断。不能主观臆想,凭空想象,随意揣测,更不能以自己的观点代替作者的观点;
      4. 把握句间、段之间的逻辑关系,了解语篇的结构和体裁。体会文章的基 调,揣摸作者的态度,感悟文章
      的逻辑发展,揣摩作者的弦外之音。
      注意:推理判断题要在阅读理解整体语篇的基础上,把握文章的真正内涵。推理时我们务必要忠于原文,在文章中寻找并确定可推论的依据,准确理解文中的已知部分,再结合语境和常识推论出未知部分和作者的言外之意。
      推理判断题干扰项特征
      1. 主观臆断:根据现实生活常识推断。虽然符合考生的常识,但文中并没有支撑的依据。
      2. 过度推断:作者并未做出评论,只是客观的陈述事实,考生进行了过度的解读和推断。
      3. 以细节代替推断:将文章中出现的文中无关紧要或片面推出的结论,如某一处细节当作合理推断,实则是原文信息的简单重复,并不是推断出来的结论。
      4. 无中生有:在解题时将自己的观点或社会的一种普遍性倾向而文中并无关系的观点当成作者的观点。实际上真正的答案在文章中并不能直接找到,会进行词汇的替换。

Accept yurself. Yu knw that nbdy is perfect. 2 When talking abut the “negatives”, it’s extremely imprtant t knw which parts f yurself can be changed and which can’t. Fr example, there’s n pint in being angry at yurself because yu aren’t as tall as yu’d like t be. Yu can try all yu want, but yu’ll never change thse features f yurself.
3 Accepting yurself is ften s hard because yu aren’t even lking at yurself — yu’re just lking at hw well yu d a certain thing. Yu’ve prbably dne it yurself. Yu didn’t lift as much weight in the gym as the guy next t yu? Yu’re weak. Yu didn’t finish all f the wrk yu planned t d? Yu’re lazy. 4 S instead, yu shuld realize that a single actin desn’t determine wh yu are. This means that laughing abut a mistake yu nce made desn’t mean yu’re laughing at wh yu are as a persn.
Be humble. Yu can’t laugh at yurself while at the same time trying t maintain the image that yu’re awesme at everything yu d. In ther wrds, yu’d better avid shwing ff and be mre humble instead. A gd tip is t think f hw insignificant yu are in the universe. 5 It reminds yu that whatever prblems yu’re dealing with right nw dn’t matter in the end.
      A.Be mindful f thers.
B.This knwledge can be freeing in a way.
      C.Separate yurself frm yur perfrmance.
D.S hw can yu learn t laugh abut yurself?
E.S why wuld yu expect yurself t be any different?
F.Yu can make a mistake, but that desn’t make yu the mistake.
G.The last thing yu want at this pint is fr smene t laugh at yu.

We als live in an age where cmedy can be n ur TVs, phnes and cmputers in secnds with the help f YuTube r Netflix. 12 , I prefer ging t live shws fr the energy, because the jkes hit harder, but when yu need a gd laugh, a cmedy special nline can be a gd substitute (替代品).
Life can be stressful and serius. We have a lt t wrry abut and it can feel verwhelming. Laughter helps us 13 tugh times, reduce stress and make 14 memries with ur friends.
