Humans have been present in Yellwstne fr mre than 11,000 years. The first rganized① explratin② f the area lies clse t the cntinental divide f Nrth America tk place in 1870.【1】Thse first rganized explrers must have seen right away hw special the land was. Yellwstne cntains beautiful muntains, deep canyns(峡谷), lakes and rivers. The name Yellwstne cmes frm③ the river running thrugh the area. At first (knw) as Rck Yellw River, it became knwn as the Yellwstne River. Yellwstne is hst t many different species f plants. Hwever, the park is mst special because f what lies underneath④ it. It sits n tp f an ancient super vlcan, (knw) as The Yellwstne Caldera(火山口). 【2】It is believed the last time the vlcan explded r erupted⑤ was ne half millin years ag. Even thugh the sun is brightly shining, telling whether it is mrning r night is impssible. I’m abve the Arctic Circle, where in summer the sun never sets. Checking my watch, I see that it is 7: 30 a.m. I leave my tent and walk ver t the muntain edge. Spreading ut befre me, branches f the Rapa River flw thrugh the valley belw. I’m in the remte far nrth f Sweden in Sarek Natinal Park, a place with n rads r twns.
