教材分析
该部分的活动主题是“探索主题公园并描述一个公园”(Explore theme parks and write about a park)。学生需要阅读一篇包含三个主题公园宣传介绍的语篇,然后完成介绍公园的短文。在“公园”这一话题下,本单元鼓励学生探究人与自然、人与社会的和谐发展。单元主要板块从探究以保护自然生态为主的国家公园,到人们生活相关的城市公园,再到娱乐与教育相融合的主题公园,话题由远及近,层层拉近探究对象与个人的关系,最后落实到要求学生联系自身经历,为自己喜欢的公园写宣传短文。
教学目标
1. 读懂并理解介绍公园的宣传文稿。
2. 能够掌握该类语篇类型应具备的要素和常用表达手法。
3. 能够抓住要点,对比和理解不同类别或同一类别的不同公园所具有的特点,探寻和理解事物表象之下蕴含的深层含义。
4. 能够模仿范文,结合公园主题,有条理地介绍公园并说明理由。

教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Look at the pictures and think of the questions.
(1) What is a theme park?
(2) Have you ever been to a theme park? Which theme park have you been to?
设计意图:利用情景图片,引导学生思考,预测语篇内容。

1. Work on Activity 1. Read the text and then fill in the table on page 32.

2. Work on Activity 2. Study the language features.

Adjectives: These add colour and life to the passage, and make the descriptions more interesting and inviting.
If-clauses: These help the reader make the decision to do as you suggest. For example, when you say, “If you want to have fun ...” the reader will probably say to himself, “well, of course I want to have fun and more than fun.”
Imperatives: These are used for strong suggestions or the “hard sell”. People tend to do as they are instructed, so the use of imperatives can be an effective way to motivate them to do something, especially if done in a friendly way.

3. Divide the passage and summarize the key points of each part.
设计意图:通过阅读语篇,提炼介绍公园的宣传文稿的篇章结构和写作要点,为后续写作任务做准备。
Step 3 Writing
1. Work on Activity 3. Use what you have learnt to write an introduction to a park.
(1) Choose the park you wish to write about.
(2) Make a mind map about the park.
(3) Use your notes to write your draft.
2. Work on Activity 5. Exchange your draft with a partner.
(1) Is the introduction clear?
(2) Does the writer include all the important points about the park?
(3) Does the writer provide any additional information about the park?
(4) Does the writer use -ing forms?
(5) Does the writer use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling?

设计意图:要求学生在阅读主题公园语篇之后,利用思维导图为自己喜欢的公园写出相关要点,并利用相关表达,并完成写作。
Step 4 Assignment
Revise your article again and upgrade the sentences.
设计意图:再次润色所写文章,关注写作中的问题,总结深化所学知识。
